"Mottern did a fantastic job designing and installing a large flagstone-on-concrete patio for us. The work included excavating and leveling the site, pouring and re-enforcing the slab, and selecting and purchasing the stone, brick and other materials. In addition to the patio, Mottern also filled in an approx. 12 sq/ft section of brick wall where a door had been converted to a window. The filled-in brick and mortar matches the original 50-year old wall perfectly. Overall, the entire Mottern crew was prompt, responsive, professional, and very skillful. We would definitely use Mottern again."

"This is the third time I've used First Impression, and the third good experience I've had with them.  They installed a new flagstone walkway between my driveway and trash can enclosure.  Dustin did the design when there was still snow/ice on the ground, and I didn't expect that they would be able to do the work until April.  But they came out in mid-March and finished in a day and half. Then, several days later, they came out and put down some grass seed and hay over areas where the grass had been torn up... a nice gesture and hallmark of good service.  The walkway looks great and the stone matches the sidewalk they installed last summer on the other side of the driveway.  In addition, they filled a number of cracks on our front porch where we were concerned there would be water leakage or settling.  First Impression is a good company and provides great service. <br />"

"CM did a great job on my project, which was removal of the existing three sides of a Baltimore brick wall, 8 foot high on the long axis and 30 feet long, with two other sides of the town house wall needing complete removal and rebuild, due the wall starting to literally fall over due to poor footings on the original construction 50 years ago when the home was build. This is an end unit town home. This job was scheduled for two weeks and that estimate was correct. I had several estimates, two that were almost identical and CM offered a 1000 dollar discount on their price if I started the job before Christmas. I agreed and all went well with the work. The phasing for demo and build went well and the clean up after was great. I would hire these guys again any time. The initial estimate was given hours after they came to my home to look at the wall, while others took days to come back with a price on work."

"Everything went great,these guys do really nice work they replaced my front concrete sidewalk using slate and brick with a concrete foundation and also repointed brick and installed slate on my porch then I had them replace back patio using slate and brick to match, quality of workmanship is outstanding."

"Went very well. Complete in 2 full days with a 2-person crew. They paid particular attention to aesthetics afterward which I appreciated. Most positive part was, they finished the day before a torrential rain storm which washed away much of the disturbed soil (where the drainage pipe was buried) as well as mulch and some river stones. I informed them and, without my realizing, they returned to my property, cleaned everything up and left quietly. When you do jobs like this, things can go wrong (including the uncontrollable, like inclement weather). What I appreciated was how responsive they were and how they ultimately made it clear that they wanted to do a good job for their customer. Lily, the project manager was great. The crew did a good job. The price was at par with other places but I'll take that + great communication and responsiveness any day. The landscaping around the wall and patio was just what I wanted with river rock and plants. He transplanted the young trees that I wanted to keep and helped me pick out plants for the rest of the project. I had not imagined including lighting, but Elijah suggested it, and the lighting is beautiful. I also had a walkway installed that matches the paver patio style. "We had a great experience working with Mike and his DC Patio crews. Relationships are important when entering into a big project, and we clicked right away with Mike. During his initial site visit, he listened to what we were looking for, provided suggestions for us to consider on details where we were undecided, and really took it all in as it was a large project wrapping around three sides of the house. He was flexible regarding our desire to source some of our own materials, and provided a detailed, comprehensive estimate that was very competitive relative to other proposals we received. Our project was delayed due to our preferred materials being unavailable as the factory shut down for two months during the initial COVID-19 lockdowns, but once we had a delivery date, DC Patio was able to get us on their schedule and get started. The crews were great: respectful, courteous, polite, tidy. Edgardo and Victor were here almost everyday, and Henry, Marvin, Donaldo, and others joined depending on nature and scope of the day's work. Mike usually came out in the morning to go over the plan for the next day or two and walk through any design decisions that were needed. In the course of about five weeks, the crews were able to remove two old walkways (including jackhammering out a set of concrete steps), add 4-10 inches of soil all the way around the house to create slope for drainage, divert 5 downspouts with underground pipes and pop-up emitters as well as two catch basins, build the crushed stone base for the new walkways and multi-level patio, install a small retaining/seating wall as well as two long, curved steps between the levels, build three small sets of bluestone steps into the house, and install two curving paver walkways, three pavers circles, a fire pit, and a large paver patio, totaling almost 2000 sq ft! And they moved a few large plants and installed some landscape lighting at each stair riser to boot. The last step was to seed the area around the patio for grass, but due to it being early July, we all expected that it may be too hot for the seed to take root even with daily watering. Mike anticipated this and planned to send a crew back in the early fall to overseed, which he did proactively without prompting. The grass seed took hold the second time and now we are all set to enjoy our new spaces this spring! We always like to support local business who take care of their customers AND their employees, and Mike's commitment to communicating with his crews in Spanish is clearly appreciated. The commitment goes both ways - we talked to several of his guys who have worked with him for many years. I would highly recommend considering DC Patio if you're in the market to transform your property with beautiful hardscaping."
