"I researched 4 companies to fully encapsulate a crawlspace damaged by flooding and rats. I also did a lot of research into possibly doing it myself so i knew what to look for. John's was the most expensive, but they were all in the same general ballpark. I was put off by some of the competitors marking insulation as "extra" and not including in their initial estimate. Insulation is required! John's costs a bit more but you get more too: John's insulated the entire floor with wrapped foam pads, dug a drain trench around the entire perimeter, jacked up every concrete pier to slide vapor barrier underneath the posts, and used proper mechanical fasteners on all of the wall insulation boards. Every nook and cranny was sealed with spray foam. The workers were amazing. They did not cut any corners. They nipped and tucked every tight little spot and never complained or made excuses. They built a plastic clean-tunnel every day and took it down down every afternoon. They did not leave behind trash. My crawlspace is clean enough to literally eat off the floor now. I would recommend John's if you want your job done correctly."

"Our house is almost 130 years old, so we needed to have some foundation stabilization done. The company was a pleasure to do business with. From our initial consultation and beyond, every contact was courteous and knowledgeable. On the first day of the project, after removing the dirt to see the foundation, it was discovered that the existing foundation was not sufficient to support using the helical piers according to the building inspector. The dirt was all replaced and it was arranged to come back out and give me a quote for a different process using smart jacks. Due to circumstances at my local building department, the new job had to be postponed until a new permit could be obtained. Once that was done I was rescheduled and the job was completed in a day and a half. When the building inspector came to sign off on the permit, he raved at what a great job they had done. "Bryan was the System Design Specialist who came out to my house. He called ahead to let me know when traffic had him running a few minutes late, which I appreciated. We talked about my concerns and ran through his interview sheet of questions, and then he proceeded to do a very thorough foundation and crawlspace review for me. Afterwards, he walked me through the few small things he found, and showed me numerous crawlspace pictures to illustrate what he wanted to talk about. He also had numerous measurements of my house to estimate any foundation shift/settling. In the end we decided there wasn't any evidence of water intrusion, and the cracks are thus far not representing any significant foundation shifts. I was prepared for the big sales pitch after all of his work doing the audit, but was pleasantly surprised when there wasn't one. We talked briefly about crawlspace encapsulation, but I determined that for now it wasn't warranted, and I could use that money elsewhere. This was all done via a free quote/estimate! Replaced line and shut off valve to my dishwasher, increasing my water pressure. Showed me how to take toilet fill valve apart to clean out rust so I did not have to call them again."

"Well, the place looks nice - bottom line. The problem is I had to watch them like a hawk. 1). They prepped the house without any mildew remover. They were all set to paint over serious mildew in several areas. When I called Tyler, he said the mildew preventative in the paint would kill the existing mildew on the house. Well, I've read that isn't true. It doesn't kill what's there, it prevents more. Anyway when I protested Tyler instantly sent someone around and sprayed with a mildew remover. 2). I was clear as crystal - do not paint over rotten wood. Tell us so we can have this corrected. They painted right over obvious rotten wood in several areas. I called Tyler and he immediately sent out a first-rate carpenter ( who I think is his partner) who fixed the places we pointed out. He said he's taken a walk around to check if there were any other rotten wood -- and said there was not. 3). We inspected -- which we should have done in the first place. We found multiple totally rotten shingles that had to be replaced. Again, we called and the first-rate carpenter came out and took care of it - fine job, too. 4). We noticed that the painters just ignored a front window and left a few areas of bare wood but the first-rate carpenter fixed that too when we called. So - we ended up, I hope with a nice paint job. However, the last time I had the house painted I didn't need to watch over the painters. They came to me whenever they saw rotten wood. They didn't dream of painting over mildew. They didn't just leave areas of bare wood. Innovative Painting Pro was several hundred dollars less expensive than our other bids and so I've learned a lesson. I'd again like to say that whenever I called Tyler and complained he instantly sent someone and they took care of everything. Every time."

"After inspecting our foundation earlier, Q determined that we needed a sump pump (which we suspected). His quote was reasonable compared to others we had heard about, so we went ahead with it.
His team of three guys worked hard for two days digging drainage trenches and installing the pump in a couple of feet of standing water. We then had to wait about a week for the water to pump out and to dry out so a new vapor barrier and gravel could be added. This was done during a cold winter where it took longer for the area to thaw and dry out so the delay was kind of a bummer, but not at all Ethereal's fault.
When they returned, they were able to finish up in one day (so three days of work total) and cleaned up after themselves very well. The guys were pleasant and happy to answer questions during the work and Q was careful to follow up and check on the work. All in all a great group to work with as long as you're realistic about the work necessary and time involved."
