"Perfectly. The repairman went the extra mile to assure the freezer continued to work while we waited for the replacement part to be delivered. Would recommend the company and Ed in particular to anyone needing refrigerator service."

"We hired this contractor to install our range/hood/vent. this was great... unfortunately, a few small scratches on our new cabinet, but the hood is in, vented and working. while here at our home, he offered that he can also do installation of dishwasher, garbage disposal and plumbing (as a separate job). he was able to install dishwasher. He asked us to buy a smaller garbage disposal due to new kitchen sink size. He threw away our original garbage disposal (which was fairly new and working) into the garbage. Worked on our kitchen sink plumbing for several hours only to tell me **some sinks just leak a little bit** He ruined the brand new sink hardware and baskets we purchased and found a similar product at a famous home appliance store which was a completely different color than what we purchased originally. we had to hire a professional plumber (which is what we should have done) and they showed us the many areas (3 separate leaks) which were not installed correctly under our sink (no cement to maintain the integrity of the system, several nuts/pipes not tightened appropriate which is why the sink was leaking in the first place. of course, we did not get our money back because some services were completed but this contractor should not be offering plumbing services to customers at all. what a waste of time and money!"

"A large tree fell on my home during storm & I hired another contractor to complete repairs which included replacing 9-12 rafters/sheathing/shingles, re-building small front porch & adding 3 windows to sunroom. Original contractor installed the windows & did a lot of work on the roof but were very slow & work was sub-par.....they also had issues getting project permitted & I finally had to let them go. I was in a real bind to get repairs completed as I was in the middle of re-financing house when the storm hit. I contacted Commonwealth & they were able to come out & assess what needed to be done. They got the permits right away & got started. Most of the previous work had to be re-done....they removed the windows & added headers & proper support & re-installed, repaired roof & re-built front porch. All work was done professionally & in a timely manner. Also installed interior trim (baseboards/windowsills/frame) in sunroom, which I requested at the last minute, so house would be ready for appraisal. They did a nice job matching the original trim on older home. Would definitely hire again."

FAQs for appliance (major electric appliance) installation and replacement projects in Ridgeville, SC

A pro starts by setting the units in place and connecting them to the right plumbing lines, electrical circuits, and, for the dryer, a vent. If the hookups already exist, the job is quick. When they don’t, the installer must add plumbing, outlets, or a vent run, which takes more time and increases the price, especially when the laundry area is located far from existing utilities.

You’ll need the right pros for a tight stacked setup. A natural-gas plumber handles the water lines, drain, and any gas work, while an electrician installs the circuit the dryer needs. If venting or framing changes are required, hire a general contractor to patch the drywall or adjust the framing so that everything meets code and operates safely.

Permanent models need complete plumbing, electrical, and—for dryers—vent hookups. Portable units skip most of that and can run on a standard outlet with a temporary water connection. If your home already has a code-approved hookup, you just connect the new appliances. If not, hire a licensed pro to add the lines and vent so the machines run safely and efficiently.

Relocating a hookup costs between $500 and $5,000, as it may involve installing new outlets, gas lines, vents, and drain pipes. The price increases when the new location is far from existing utilities or requires additional framing and drywall work. Have licensed professionals evaluate your layout, provide a quote for the move, and handle the installation so that every component meets code and works safely.
