Small jobs welcome

"I thought he did a good job explaining what he did do but very disappointed they didn't explain that you had to pay a lot extra money to actually find out what kind of mold if any you had. The $199.00 fee they only looked for mold & tested the air quality. If they found any mold it cost a lot more to find out what type. He did say we had mold in our crawl space but not what kind, that cost more money. Overall good for what he did do."

"I had an inspection on July 31, 2017 of a house that I had signed a contract to buy and gave a $500.00 good faith estimate at Westview, Kentucky, Mr Gage did a extensive inspection of the property and gave me a 62 page report of the property with many photographs that showed damaged areas. He discovered that the property had extensive damage to the wood in the craw space and much moisture which indicated a possibility of mold damage. He saved us from buying a property that would require much work and expense to repair. On August 9, 2017, he inspected another house we were interested in buying at 206 Plainview St. Hardinsburg, Kentucky. He also did a extensive inspection on the property and gave us a 53 page report . He found that the property was in good shape, but by photographs, pointed out the area's that need to be repaired."

"I thought I had a mold problem around my air vents.  Based on my description and his experience, Richard told me he was 99% sure it wasn't mold but was just carbon buildup around the air vents. He explained how it happens and both how to clean it and how to prevent it. <br /> Nice guy too. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"The initial inspection and estimate went great.  I felt absolutely no pressure to buy.  The guys at Crawlspace Doctor spent time teaching me about the crawl space and why the area under the house should be conditioned like the inside of the home.  They even came back for a second time to answer additional questions without any confirmation that I would be hiring them to do the work. <br /> The quality of the work was outstanding and the job was completed ahead of schedule.  They determined my dryer vent was too clogged to clean and replaced it at no additional cost.  They also moved the dryer vent and bricked up the hole left in the side of the house at no additional cost. <br /> I have even seen increased efficiency with my heating.  I used to keep my house at 68-70 degrees fahrenheit during the winter.  I now keep it at 65 degrees fahrenheit and remain 100% comfortable.  I would assume this is due to the fact that there is no longer cold air under the house that pulls heat away from the house.  The crawl space is now heated and cooled the same as the inside of the house.  <br /> It's a dream to have a vapor barrier installed if you do any work under the house or have water shut-off's under the house.  I can freely enter the crawl space (without it being excessively hot or cold), move around easily, and come out just as clean as I went in. <br /> I will admit that the cost of the work was quite a bit more in comparison to other companies, but no one else was going to do anywhere near the amount of work that they did.  I still believe the cost was more than fair for the quality of work that was performed. <br /> Lastly, I would encourage anyone to ask for before and after pictures of the work these guys have done. <br />"

"They did an excellent job. The owner of the company came out to evaluate the mold that we had. They were able to schedule us to get the problem fixed relatively quickly. I had a really good experience and I would highly recommend them. They were very knowledgeable too. I would definitely use their services in the future."

"The appointment was scheduled between 9 and 10.  Ian called around 9 to let me know he was 15 minutes away.   He inspected the carpet and told me what stains he would be able to remove and which stains would likely not be removed.  I had some orange stain from some furniture feet that he told me in advance would likely not be able to be removed, but that's OK because we'll put the furniture back where it was before.  Ian helped me move a few pieces of furniture out of the room and got to work.  He did the 3 areas per the deal (Living Room, TV Room/Office and Master Bedroom).  All 3 look great right now, but the rooms need at least the day to dry out.  Ian recommended to let it dry till tomorrow morning, which is no issue so we'll do that.   All in all a good, professional service and I would recommend Ian if you're looking for carpet cleaning.  We will use him again when we do some other areas in the house. <br />"

"Pekin insurance company, who holds my home insurance, refused to cover a collapsed basement wall, even though coverage was provided through my policy. An assessor did not come to my home immediately after the incident occurred on 6/26/15. Instead a structural engineer was sent by Pekin.  Due to his skewed, non-truthful, and contradictory report that clearly put aside the facts and events to side with Pekin, my claim was denied. I was then prompted to contact another structural engineer, (paid out of my pocket), a lawyer, and several re-construction companies. The structural engineer I contacted made a very detailed report, including soil samples, pictures, weather reports, and measurements. Unlike Pekin's engineer, from Donan Dynamics, this report was based on facts and supported by data; whereas, Donan's engineer 's report was not complete and based on his opinion. The second engineer's report supported the fact that the wall collapsed due to hydrostatic pressure based on the amount of rain my area had had, and the type of soil my yard was composed of.  His report totally discounted and disproved the "lateral movement of the land caused by water percolating through the soil, thus causing the wall to bend,' as presented the Donan engineer. <br /> After consulting with a lawyer, I was advised to send a complaint to the Indiana Department of Insurance, which I did. I stated my problem and the fact that Pekin had blown me off. Pekin would not even tell me if I had a rider for such calamities as foundation collapse due to underground water pressure. Finally, I was contacted by a management member of Pekin.  He reported that he had received my complaint and he had reviewed the claim.  His conclusion was:  Donan was wrong and totally contradictory in their conclusions.  It was the result of hydostatic pressure and yes, I was covered for this type of accident.  After profuse apologizes, this supervisor stated that I was to send in the estimates I had received for repairs.  I had consulted 3 companies; Champion Waterproofing and Piering, LLC I felt, was the best.  It was the least expensive and the company had great reviews with the BBB and on Angieslist. Mr. Haire, Champion's owner was knowledgeable, courteous, and intelligent. He did not condescend to me as I am female. He agreed to start work immediately, even though I had to wait for checks to be sent to Pekin, then my mortgage company for endorsement, and finally to me.  Within 2 weeks, the job was beautifully completed.; the wall was completely and strongly rebuilt; the basement was completely waterproofed, and mold that had accumulated due to having to wait on Pekin, was totally removed.  Champion did in 2 weeks what Pekin could not do in over 2 months.  I recommend Champion to anyone who has basement structural problems. <br />"

FAQs for mold & toxic material test projects in Rineyville, KY

Some companies offer a no‑cost phone or video consultation that screens for red flags. If the discussion points to a real issue, the pro will recommend a paid on‑site inspection. The complimentary call clarifies whether you need full testing, but it isn’t a substitute for samples, lab work, or a written report. Always confirm what the free service covers before you schedule.

A standard inspection, which includes basic air and surface samples, takes an average of two hours. If the pro needs to probe hidden spaces, such as wall cavities or ductwork, plan on up to six hours. Extra time allows the inspector to reach tight areas, collect additional samples, and document findings. Lab analysis is a separate process and often adds several business days to the overall timeframe before you receive the full report.

Mold thrives where moisture lingers and air flow is poor. Common hotspots include bathroom walls, kitchen backsplashes, window sills, HVAC vents, fireplaces, crawl spaces, and enclosed attics. Check these areas regularly—especially after leaks or high‑humidity weather—to catch growth early and avoid costly repairs.

Unchecked mold can knock 20% to 37% off a home’s market value because buyers worry about hidden damage and health risks. Even after remediation, visible staining or a history of major moisture issues can still lower offers and prolong the time on the market. Addressing mold quickly protects both your property’s structural integrity and its resale appeal.
