"Outstanding. The job was originally estimated at one day but it soon turned into three full days. Every board that was cut and every shingle that was nailed was done in a highly professional manner. The roof is literally better than new. After raking the lawn could not come up with a single nail, the cleanup was that good. The roof itself was quoted at $5100 plus the additional plywood as needed. Another firm quoted a price including all needed plywood that was at least $500 more and did not include the finish coat of paint on the windows. The total cost was $9500 but that included an extensive amount of carpentry work (both roof plywood and window framing) at what I considered a reasonable price. An added bonus is we have enclosed gutters. The old roof the rain would bounce off the top of the gutters and could be very noisy at times, the new roof is very quiet. Roof color matches the paint scheme for the house and the installation was first rate. Price, quality, timeliness, could not have been better. Would definitely use this company again and would be happy to tell my neighbors. Two other quotes we received were higher as noted above and one couldn't supply the exact shingle color we wanted."

"I would not hesitate to recommend - responsive, great communication, reasonable pricing. We had a disastrous roof flooding experience from a flat roofed dormer and needed it fixed quickly. As Roberto worked on the dormers he found significant water damage below the shingles, documenting it with photos for us. Although it cost more than the original estimate to replace the flat plywood sheaths and wood fascia, it was still reasonable and the work done was thorough and looks great."

"I had another company come out and verify that I needed to have work done on my roof and had confirmed I'd need to replace the roof. After reaching out to a number of companies only Certified was able to provide me the comfort of excellent communication (many didn't have the courtesy to reply to my inquiries) and references to sign on the dotted line. They were one of the few companies that had expertise with flat roofs as well as shingle and were able to work around my roof mounted HVAC unit by moving it as needed. They installed a white Mule Hide TPO roof on my main roof as well as on my addition and replaced the roofs for my front porch (which has started to leak and wasn't draining into the gutter) as well as my steep mansard roof. One company I dealt with in the initial phase was unwilling to answer questions I had with regard to the CRRC ratings of the TPO but Certified was always upfront with me and provided me with continuous updates as the work progressed, all via email and by phone. I'd originally expected to have shingles on the former BUR roof on my addition, but the crew determined that a flat roof was more appropriate and replaced it with TPO, with an explanation for their change and at no additional cost. The warranties provided as well as the licensure and insurance were a critical factor to my selection (too many companies seem to be operating in a legal gray area) and I don't expect to have any problems with the work completed, but if I do I know they stand behind their work."

"Rich was amazing. This job was very difficult. Because of the configuration of my house, there was only one spot in the closet where the tube would go thru. Another contractor told me that the job was impossible, because of obstables both between closet floor and dining room ceiling and closet ceiling and roof. Rich managed to install the Solatube and avoid all the obstacles. It was really amazing what he was able to do. I am not easily impressed with contractors, but Rich was great. "William Mackay is a generational roofer in the area with tons of experience on all kinds of roofs, including slate, flat, and shingle roofs, specifically in DC. Our main roof is slate but the back additions are asphalt shingle. After promptly repairing holes in the pitch of our slate roof he approached us with an issue regarding our back addition. He showed us a video his men took of how it was improperly installed and that we would be having issues with the roof - if not now, then in the very near future. IT was shingle stapled into metal roof - no wood or anything which is not up to code. He gave us no pressure at all but it was clear we would be having issues with the roof. We decided to have it reinstalled and that day (it was a Friday) he brought two work teams on site to have it done that afternoon. He did not try to sell us on a new roof. He only suggested the repairs to the areas where we are currently getting a leak and to other areas that are about to start leaking.
