"Went in to store on a Friday afternoon to look at samples. Sales person was not very helpful to us in choosing, just walked around while we looked at different things, so not sure if we got the best carpet for our needs. However, the service/install was exemplary. Owner came out at 9am the next morning to measure/price it out and told us they were 3 weeks out for install. As it turned out, they called us to move the install up as they were ahead of schedule and even then, due to pending snow, moved it up again - if it was convenient for us - so that they could get in/out before the storms. This far exceeded any service I have had from any of the "big box stores"."

"Rick provided exceptional service that eliminated odor and pet hairs from my living room carpets. I was impressed by his equipment that did a deep penetration of the carpet with chemical free applications - far superior to what I have experienced with carpet cleaning in the recent past. All stains were removed and the carpet looks like new! He also removed stains from my staircase carpets. Rick vacuumed all residue pet hair, etc. that resulted from the deep cleaning. I will definitely use Rick's service for carpet cleaning in the future and will recommend his service to others. <br />"

"They did everything they agreed to, on time and at a fair price. It takes a lot of skill and experience to install sheet flooring, and the man who did the installation (can't remember his name) really knew what he was doing and did a great job, and while removing the old linoleum he took special care to minimize damage to the flooring underneath so that it didn't have to be replaced, which saved us money. The new flooring has held up well in the almost three years we've had it, and we are very satisfied. If we do have problems within the warranty period I expect the same kind of service. <br />"

"In one case, the client had been told by three other flooring stores that the product he wanted was discontinued and unavailable. Brett called the manufacturer, found out the product was not only still available (under a different name), but also was able to price, install it, and take outstanding care of the customer for less than the competitors wanted to related products.  <br /> Anytime you walk into their store, you will be made welcome immediately, and allowed to explore as you prefer, either with guidance or without. There's a great reason their tag line is "We Floor our Customers!" Brett and Carol will certainly do whatever they can to make their customers satisfied and happy. <br />"

"Excellent, Mike is a true professional. He was on the pricier side, but the quality of his work is top notch. He even had some great suggestions on how we should floor certain rooms. Very pleased with his work and the results."

"Our purple carpet had about 100 urine stains from previous dogs and our own. The specialist, Robert, matched to color and treated every spot. If we didn't know where they were, we'd never know they spots had been there. Perfect job!"

"called the owner and he was at my house several hours later. He went home and drew up a firm estimate and submitted it within the next 24 hours including the  estimated time arrival from the factory <br /> Doors arrived on time and his crew started the installation process over the next two days <br /> Very satisfied with the entire project and all of his crew members. I hold Jon in high esteem in his mannerism and professionalism <br /> <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Rochester, NH

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
