He saw some subflooring existed underneath the wood to be refinished, so he bought and installed the same under a new area of wood to be installed, finishing it flawlessly to match the older wood he was re-finishing. He also took it upon himself to shave off the bottom of existing doors to clear the new elevation. Gratis. And had his electrician repair a cracked floor outlet we had. He took care of EVERYTHING!!
