"I got his name from Angie's List and called him because of his high recommendations. He was available for the very next day to do the work, but I had to set the appointment for a different day. Later, I had to change the time of the appointment and he was able to do that with no problem. He installed the carpet over a hardwood floor and did it in a very professional manner. You could tell he knew what he was doing and had all the proper tools to do a quality job. When he finished the job, he cleaned up the entire area and removed all leftover scraps. We were very pleased with the quality of the job, and the professionalism of the installation. We would recommend him to others. <br />"

"I highly recommend Nu-Way Systems Carpet Dying and Cleaning. I have used them twice and both times I was extremely impressed with their thoroughness. They tested the fabric of my furniture before cleaning to prevent damage and did a fabulous job spot treating and cleaning the carpets. They are the best I have used!"

"Our salesman, Bob, worked with us through numerous moments of indecision. Once we selected the carpet we wanted, he ordered it and told us we could expect delivery in about a week. <br /> <br />We received the call from the installation coordinator within a week. Since it was a big job, he scheduled the work for two days. <br /> <br />The installers were here promptly at 8:00 a.m. and started immediately. They worked steadily. <br /> <br />We are very satisfied with the entire experience! <br /> <br />Thank you. <br />"

"They sold and installed three rooms of carpeting. Im mostly satisfied. I feel there was more leftover carpet than there should have been. Also, salesperson did not let installers know they needed to move furniture-which delayed the start and caused it to become a 2day vs one day job. Installers were extremely friendlyand courteous and they did a really nice thorough job."

"Lowe's were very helpful. I get all of my paint there. I've bought appliances from there. They're very prompt. We had carpet installed. They were excellent. We do most of our household remodeling ourselves. Their pricing is reasonable. One thing I really like about them, my husband is a Veteran and they give a 10% discount. You don't find that very often. They always been very professional, polite and helpful. I really like that store. I really can't say enough about them. They were very, very good."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Rockton, IL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
