"We have had the same company come to clean carpet since 2007. The last two years we asked for <br /> Miguel Alvarez and will always ask for him. <br /> The team that come are very friendly. <br />"

"<p>We purchased two big deals because we opted to do an extra room. I think it turned out pretty well. The only problem I had was we could not return extra so we ended up having to keep it in extra boxes. They just need to make sure they measure a little better. We had already removed all of our carpeting so we had it basically ready for them to come in to do. My advice to others is to make sure they get the square footage right, because people are stuck with it if it is not measured right. That was our only issue because we had to pay extra because of that. Overall they did fine. The product was as good as we thought it would be. We liked the initial person that we purchased from; Phil was good. We had two different installers come; I thought, maybe the same installer would come both times. I just don't want to be a complainer because we are enjoying the product. They did what they said they were going to do. I guess we got what we paid for. There were a couple of places that were chipped a little bit that they had to come back and re-mark or whatever, because we were not going to have them tear it out. I don't know if it was the product itself or the installer. We do like the product; it complements our house. </p>"

"Great job, and like all projects, we ran into a problem with a subfloor that was (can you believe it?) glued-down particle board. Thanks for seeing this through - floors look great, and the details like corners and around vents are very professional."

"Mr. Elmore of Buffing Brother's was absolutely great! Prompt, professional and courteous. He came in, assessed the job and got straight to work. The carpet looked fantastic and smelled great. I would recommend him 100% and will ABSOLUTELY use him again. He even cleaned my hand knotted Mashad Persian wool rug and it looks like it did when I first purchased it."

"Everything was great until the install.  at the time, my father was dying of cancer.  We had set up the install on a certain day, and had planned on getting the furniture out of the rooms, but they called a day or so early and said they could come that morning, something had cancelled. I was like, great!  So a small crew came over (2 guys), and the supervisor did not.  They had the carpet with them, and had started getting it ready. Supervisor  finally came after I called Wood's.  He told the other guys to help us empty the rooms, and he would be back.  Then we found out that he was going back and forth to another job.  I called Woods again and was very upset, because they had said this would take about 3 hours and I needed to go see my dad.  The owner told me to go ahead and leave, she would take care of it. It eventually got done, but was a stressful day for me.  I have not had that problem anywhere else. <br />"

"They ended up exchanging everything out for us, but it was just more of a hassle than anything. The installers also didn't speak English so it was hard to communicate with them."

"Scott came out and did an estimate. You can not be in a hurry. It took 5 weeks to get a time for an estimate. The scheduling of the work will also take weeks. Scott said if I was flexible , he would work me in when they had a day with no work scheduled. I am retired and home a lot so I am flexible . Scott did work me in on 12/23. That was fine. I was home preparing g for Christmas Eve. I stayed out of their way. The work was well done and the crew were very professional <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Rockvale, TN

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
