"The salesperson, Mark (?), was great. Very thoughtful and generally a really nice guy. I was looking to recarpet two bedrooms - didn't want to spend a ton and didn't want anything super plush. He steered me towards some good possibilities. Shopping for carpeting can be very overwhelming. Once he came out to the house to measure, it became clear that some options would create a clearance problem with closet and bedroom doors. I am glad he noticed that because otherwise, I'd have had to have the doors removed and cut -- costing me more. The installers were prompt, polite and thorough. And very quick. Remarkably so. The only negative comment I can make is that the pad installed is not as cushion-y as I had hoped. Because of the concern about door clearance, a very thin pad was recommended. As it turns out, I could have gone with something a bit thicker, which would have been a lot better. Even the installer was surprised by the choice but at that point it was too late. <br />"

"My contractor recommended Sam's to purchase flooring for my entire house including stairs.  I provided measurements done by my contractor who did the final install.  Sam's gave me a price that was half of a major flooring company (has radio ads) for a major brand of laminate.  We also purchased baseboards which was much better quality than large hardware chain."

"It was about $16000 or $18000 for flooring and the installation.  They are fantastic.  They are professional.  The floors look great.  They are gorgeous and I have received compliments on them.  I am going to use them for carpeting the downstairs.  I spoke with the owner, he is just unbelievable, and his professionalism is incredible."

"The contractor called in a day before to confirm the appointment. They arrived on time and were done in an hour or so. The carpets in all rooms look visibly clean! One thing to note - they didn't clean any of the corners where the wall meets the floor saying their equipment cannot go there which I found little odd."

"It did not appear tha t one carpet was cleaned at all. I called them and asked them I'd they had washed it and they said to bring it back. Our large carpet had pet urin still in it as if it hand,t been washed and was sticky. We have has this carpet cleaned before by others and it always came back cleans and fresh. We decided to simply go to another cleaner. <br />"

"We love them. They were great, but we have not used them. If we are to get flooring in the future, they would be the ones we will go with. The quote was about $10,000 which was about what we expected. I liked that their quote was fair. We had a couple of people come in previous to them who talked about replacing all of our base boards. They were very honest and said that that would not need to happen. They were just very thorough. They were very professional in the way they measured and came out and showed us samples. When we went out to their show room, they were very pleasant and they let us take home a bunch of samples and let them read in the light that we have in the house."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Rohnert Park, CA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
