"I would most defiantly use Mr. Appliance again! He was very knowledgeable. Mike not only fixed the problem but gave me some helpful hints on how to make my dishwasher more effective. Great to work with, on time and reasonably priced. Will call Mr Appliance for any other appliance needs!!!

"We originally took our lawn mower to Nuts and Bolts for repair after it shut off and failed to restart while mowing one day. After 2 weeks of waiting and several different guesses at what the issue might be without an actual diagnosis, Nuts and Bolts finally got back to us and told us that because we had used premium gas in our mower we had corroded the valves in the engine and ruined the engine beyond repair. We decided to get a second opinion and went to Brent. After 3 days with our mower Brent called us back and said he had found the issue. The carburetor had a small crack in it and needed to be replaced. He had researched out the cheapest options for replacement carburetors and even offered to go pick up the carburetor for us for a small $10 fee, more than fair and very much appreciated. Thanks to Brent our 32 year-old mower is still running strong! Brent got back to us quickly, accurately diagnosed the issue, had very fair pricing and saved us from having to buy a new mower! We are so appreciative."

"2 men came to fix the faucet, I can't remember the date. The one was nice but the second should have stayed in the truck. He has no business talking to the public. The one had to get replacement parts and did fix the faucet that day. I was very put off by the one man, this is why I wouldn't use this company again.

"Technician came to the house and analyzed the problem. It was determined that the cost of repair was over the allowable Choice Home Warranty limit and it should be replaced. Choice Home Warranty issued their replacement cost. This cost was unacceptable and I challenged their figure. After some negotiation I was offered an increased settlement amount. I still balked at their offer but I was told to take it or repair my old microwave. I finally accepted their amount, even though it is still well below what it will cost me to replace the unit. I might add that the existing microwave has the convection feature and I want to replace with same features. The cost that I will receive also does not include any removal, disposal or installation costs. At this time I am debating whether I will continue with Choice Home Warranty or consider other options."

"Overall, it the job got done. Top Appliance was able to find a belt for my ancient Maytag portable dishwasher but the repair wasn't exactly straightforward. Robert was the first to reply to my Angi service request and was able to come to the house within an hour. He correctly diagnosed the problem but because it was late in the day, he was unable to obtain the belt right away. We agreed he would return the next day to replace the broken belt. My main gripe is that he did not keep me apprised of the fact that a job he had taken on the following day (Friday afternoon before Memorial weekend) ran long. The time we agreed to came and went. He only contacted me an hour later after I sent him a text asking where he was and what he was up to. Being left in the dark like that is one of my pet peeves when it comes to service people. I think it's rude and unprofessional. I had to wait until the following Tuesday for him to be able to return and install the new belt. Luckily, it was not an urgent job. But the delay was a pain in the neck. In the end, he got the job done in less than an hour and verified that the dishwasher worked as it should with the new belt before departing. Also, for reasons I did not clearly understand, the final bill turned out to be about $8 more than was initially quoted ( it may have been the cost of the part, I'm not sure). Due to technical problems, I ended up paying the cost of the original estimate which was satisfactory considering the 4-day delay. Bottom line: Robert of Top Appliances was pleasant, professional and eventually got the job done successfully. Unfortunately, I'm ambivalent about recommending him."

FAQs for appliance (smaller size) installation and replacement projects in Rosalia, KS

Garbage disposals last around 10 years when properly maintained. If your unit is getting close to that age or repair costs are increasing, it might be time to consider a replacement. Regular maintenance and careful use can help maximize your garbage disposal's performance and help it reach its maximum lifespan.

There are several signs to watch for that indicate your garbage disposal needs to be replaced. Replacement may be necessary if it doesn't work even though it's properly connected, the blades are worn and causing delays in operation, a persistent foul odor that won't go away, or leaks coming from the bottom due to a compromised seal. If you're experiencing any of these issues, it might be time to consider getting a new garbage disposal to keep your kitchen running smoothly.

A plumber or handyperson can install your garbage disposal if the electrical connections are already in place. If you need additional electrical work, you'll also need to hire a qualified electrician to handle the rest of the job. Hiring local professionals ensures the installation is safe and up to code.

It’s important to avoid putting certain items down the drain to keep your garbage disposal running smoothly and avoid clogs. Expandable foods like pasta, rice, oatmeal, and bread can swell and cause blockages. Coffee grounds, grease, fats, and oils can accumulate and create clogs. Hard items such as meat bones, nuts, and fruit pits can damage the disposal blades. Eggshells, potato peels, and fibrous vegetables such as celery, pumpkin, corn husks, artichokes, onion skins, and asparagus can wrap around the blades or obstruct the pipes.

Not every sink is suitable for the installation of a garbage disposal. The compatibility of the sink with the disposal depends on the material and structural integrity. While many standard sinks support these units, fireclay sinks are prone to cracking under the added stress and should not be used. Confirm that your sink can securely accommodate the disposal before installation.

Choosing the correct size garbage disposal depends on your household size and how much waste you produce. A 1/3–1/2 horsepower unit should be sufficient for households with one to two people. If your household consists of three to six people, a 1/2–3/4 horsepower unit is recommended. FA3/4–1 horsepower model will be necessary. For larger households of five to eight people
