"I hired one of their installers, Exact Tile. Ricky Baden was the foreman and he was on top of things from ordering, to being onsite the first day of work and throughout the project. I had half my house tiled and a master bath, including the floor, tub surround and shower. They did a beautiful job and left no mess at all. AND they were done in 3 days with over 700 feet of flooring. I worked with Buffkin to pick out and order my tile - that was onsite in a day. I was extremely happy all around! I quickly found I had no issue leaving them at my house alone for most of the job. Check out the video of the finished floor. [*** Link removed ***]"

"It was great working with Joan Abbott initially to pick out the flooring that we wanted. They have a lot of choices in their showroom. When the time came for installation, Alex did a great job and we receive quite a few compliments on our floors. We would definitely go back to Floors Direct with any future needs."

"There are two parts to our purchase with Floors Direct. The first is the initial contact and subsequent visits. We were referred through Angie's List to Jose at Floors Direct. He was AMAZING. There wasn't a request he couldn't handle, there wasn't an impatient bone in his body and he was ALWAYS there to talk to us. We wanted hardwood floors throughout the first floor of our home, replacing carpet. He showed us hardwood and laminate floors, taking us through the pros and cons of each. We eventually decided on laminate floors. Jose gave us Floors Direct's best estimate and we paid a down payment. About a week after, we learned of tile floors that LOOKED like hardwood. Jose said he had them in stock. We quickly picked out what we wanted and Jose reconfigured our entire order as well as our schedule to install the new tile. He did it with a smile. If everyone in business was as polite, courteous and respectful as Jose, the world would be a great place.  <br /> Unfortunately, not everyone associated with Floors Direct is like Jose. The actual installers of our floor did their job but didn't make clear what their schedule was. Our tile was delayed, so they spent considerable time just lounging in our yard on the first day of work. We had a large entertainment center that they were paid to move -- they didn't even try to move it until five days into the project and when they tried they decided not to do it, which altered how they would install tile around the entertainment center. Worst of all, they left messes everywhere in our house, including our garage, back yard and bathroom (eww). Their inability to not clean up after themselves made our house smell and our yard messy. When these issues were brought up to Ramon, who was in charge of the installation, he acted as if he couldn't care less. He took his check (which there was a miscommunication on) and left. Jose apologized profusely for Ramon and his workers but couldn't do anything more about it.  <br /> Ultimately our floors look great, so through all of the problems we still got what we wanted. The bottom line is that Jose and the folks at Floors Direct are great -- they deserve an A! But their workers left a lot to be desired. They deserve a C. Average it out to a B. <br />"

"Carmen is extremely professional, knowledgeable, hardworking and friendly. He came into a job after another reneged. He steered us in the right direction. Not only is Carmen doing beautiful vinyl wood floors and laying new carpet, but turns out we needed our powder room sub floor replaced and our front door replaced due to rotted wood. Nothing is too much trouble. He can do it all! I only wish I knew Carmen before I hired someone to install my granite counters and kitchen island. Any future work on my home will be done by Carmen and his hardworking crew! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

"Durham & Sons put in my last HVAC system over 12 ears ago and I've had a service contract with them. Recently a $2000 part went and I verified that replacing it was not a good investment given the system's age. They took the time to explain options in detail. As luck would have it, the pandemic and factory issues made finding the desired replacement units a real challenge. But these guys really stepped up to the challenge. Besides temporarily installing 4 window units to hold us over, they were creative and persistent and found what was needed. Their crew did impeccable work taking out the old system and replacing it, really going above & beyond. This is a family owned company with high standards and they can be trusted to steer you right and be 100% professional."

"The technician arrived promptly and explained the pricing options clearly. He vacuumed all the carpets and pre-spotted several heavily soiled areas. He cleaned all the carpets and applied Scotchguard. In addition, I bought a can of ChemDry spot remover, which is my all-time favorite carpet spot cleaner. My only complaint is that some cleaning solution was splashed on the bottom of several pieces of furniture; however, it was easily rubbed off."

"I requested this flooring company because of knowing the good character and work ethic of staff. As work on the project went forward it became clear to me that Classic Wood Flooring's owner, Don Herndon is a man of honesty & integrity. What he says, he'll do! The guys working on the flooring from start to finish were Shane and Xavier. Can't say enough great things about them. Totally quality work on flooring removal and new install. Shane's skilled carpentry trim work on baseboards was even commended by insurance contractor's carpenter working on cabinetry! What was put back into my house looks WAY better than what was there before. Between Shane and company owner, Don Herndon, communication remained clear with me as we worked with Insurance contractor to coordinate work schedule. Workers were always here when they said they would be and finished when they said they would. Great job guys!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Roseland, FL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
