"While I did not have a bad experience, some of my colleagues and onlookers viewed the work as nice. I appreciate what Matt and team did to complete my basement, I was honestly surprised at what they actually saw as a complete project and what I had to point out that it was not. I expected that being the professionals and in this business, knowing what an actual finished project looks like is what they would educate me on, but that was not the case. I will still have to get items finished that were not completed and while I could have had them come back and point out yet another item that was not what I considered complete, I will just have them completed at a later date. There were items that they admittedly stated they did not pay attention to and just for lack of a better term, put some lipstick on one aspect of my project (my words) While it looks ok, you can tell that what was done looks to have been an afterthought in how it was finished. This comment made by a colleague. I am a stickler about how my money was being used and wanted to know how it was spent which seemed to be a foreign concept. I asked to receive receipts for what was purchased with the funds I was giving to finish my basement but never quite got there. I was actually somewhat concerned to see that the funds I provided for my project were being used to buy tools I believed they should have had as part of their professional tools. If something broke, I would expect that funds from their company account would be used and not the funds that the client provided for their project. I actually did recommend them to another colleague so the work they do is quite good. I am not to sure if maybe they need to do more works on the scale of my project to hone their finishing skills, but I believe they are or will continue to better refine their finishing skills. They seemed to be very knowledgeable but some of the things along the way I also believe they realized they should have made known during the estimate phase of their projects. The knowledge they have I believe will grow to overcome those aspects of a project that can be overcome and made to look more professional. The pricing was good although I purchased many items which actually put me over my budget even though they said that me purchasing some items would save me money. I wish them success as they continue on."
