"Had a great experience with Downeast Chimney Sweep! The rep was very knowledge and professional. Our home inspector had recommended cleaning and examination of chimney flues. We don’t have a fireplace but were told that it’s important to clean the exhaust flue since we have gas heat. Downeast chimney explained that we have a direct vent gas furnace and since it doesn’t use the chimney, we don’t need to do anything. Did not try to sell us things we don’t need. John was very thorough in what needed to be done and how it needed to be done so as to not incur any additional cost (headaches). When the time came for the work to be done, John and Miguel showed up on time and went right to work. Within a matter of hours, the chimney liner, exhaust manifolds for the furnaces and hot water heater were all installed - all with no trace of him being there beyond his completed work. "They did a GREAT job! They first ran into permit problems in Brookline, but Rich (?) was able to fix that and didn't charge me extra. Then on the day of the work, they showed up and worked through to the next day and removed the whole chimney from the inside without making a dent in the house. I was MOST impressed with this as I have 2 small children so dust is a big deal to me. Since they are so prompt and efficiently, i was able to coordinate with my roofer to come in on the same day to seal up the roof. At the end of the day, you couldn't even tell that someone had removed a chimney just minutes before. Highly recommended! <br />"

"My heat kept shutting off. Replace the safety value but it shut down again. Realized it must be a block in the Chimney. I called MANY chimney companies but most were to busy to come out for a month or two. I found one that would come on Friday but when I called Atlantic they said they would be out that night. They called back when they said they would, arrived on time, were very professional and explained what they were going to do. Even one of the owners stopped by. Turns out the chimney was blocked and they had it cleaned out in less than an hour. Even though it was dark out, Dan climbed on the roof to give me an estimate for a liner and cap. I will definately be hiring them to install the liner."
