"They accepted my Angie's List coupon and I had told them that ahead of time. I had no problems at all and the work was wonderful. The service techs were very good. They took my carpet out to my car & loaded it for me too. The carpets were ready when they said it was time."

"Jeff and his team were friendly and professional. There was a great attention to detail on the installation. They worked quickly and left the work space spotless. During installation they noticed some squeaking in one area of the floor and worked to address it before laying down the new floor, which I don't know that many contractors would take the time to do. He came in lower than other store front type flooring services and did a much better job! We will definitely use them again on future projects, Jeff was a delight to work with!"

"Excellent work. All employees and subcontractors were professional and respectful of the environment they were working in. At no time were we left feeling like they were putting us on a lower priority than any other work they may have. The group of subcontractors they worked with are good. I don't know the name of the person who did the painting but he did an outstanding job. Contractor (Nelson Morris) regularly checked on the site. Basically everyone came in did their work - no run arounds, no excuses just got everything done. Left work site clean/tidied up (as much as possible for a construction site) at the end of each day. Work was finished on schedule (complete project took approx 6 weeks). Were very receptive to input from us and accommodating our needs. Worked well with three other groups that were simultaneously doing work here (furniture supplier and installer, security installation, backup generator installation). The finished space far exceeds our expectations, it is completely unrecognizable from its initial state, blend in seamlessly with the rest of the building and is amazingly bright and inviting (especially considering it is below ground level on two of three sides). Past experiences with contractors has been that there are generally some problems, delays, callbacks for fixes and I feel that this company did a better job of responding to and minimizing these. They are not fancy and don't come off as cutting edge - they know what they are doing and make the project happen and I would take that over a slick styled sales pitch with nothing to back it up on any day."

"They did a great job, calling me within 45 minutes of a web inquiry that I made an hour before they opened, they were able to come out an stretch a 7 year-old carpet that had started bubbling up. They came out the same day and were great to work with. They worked around several features that made the job more challenging (hearth, baseboard heater) with aplomb. I'd use them again in a heartbeat. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Ruckersville, VA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
