He vacuumed the top of my kitchen cabinets, patched the kitchen walls which had been damaged when I'd replaced the counter tops, sanded cabinet doors that were warped and had been rubbing together, and he even installed new hall light fixtures I'd purchased and unsuccessfully attempted to install myself. "Sean Wright was always professional, prompt, courteous, friendly, and very helpful. I was not sure of some things I wanted to do and Sean made suggestions of various options I had not thought of, then talked through the pros and cons of each idea until I came up with a decision of what would work best for me and what I wanted to accomplish. This was invaluable in helping me manage the costs. The work he and his team did was excellent quality and they cleaned up every day before they left, and made it as easy as possible for me to live in the house while it was being renovated/remodeled.

The subcontractors were also good for the most part. The plumber and HVAC people were competent and completed their work in a timely manner and the pricing was reasonable. The cabinet maker was excellent. He built custom kitchen and bathroom cabinets to my design and measurements and installed them for less than half what Lowes had quoted for similar cabinets and they look great.

The electrical contractor, Kennedy Electric did good work but the price was twice what I had expected and took months longer than it should have.

I would not hesitate to recommend SLW for any size construction or remodeling job. I will be contacting them again later in the summer for some work on the exterior of the house.

Many didn't return calls, a few said that they couldn't get to me for months, one even told me they simply don't have enough staff to service all of the demand. "They did not arrive until after 12pm every day. We have young kids and asked that they be gone by 5pm everyday for dinner and bedtime routines. Their showing up at 12pm, meant they had to either work past 5pm, or come back for longer. The job took 5 days. On the second to last day they did not leave our house until almost midnight. They drank our beer in garage (which we didn’t realize until we saw cans sitting all over the place), took multiple smoke and phone breaks and just sat out there for long periods of time. Our house was left a complete mess which required me to spend hours removing glue from the wood floors, door handles, and bathroom sink. They left glue buckets and other trash all over the garage. Debris was everywhere in our home as they did not to prevent this (dust from sawing, etc.). He ended up redoing the first room he did, at our request because they just floated the wood and it was terrible (not their fault). At the time of discussion he said he didn’t want to charge us anymore. We took this to mean there would be no charge. The night before the job ended my husband gave them a check for the agreed upon amount. He then emailed and texted me (the wife) the next day, saying my husband “forgot” to pay him the $250 for pulling up the floor and glueing it. We went back and forth multiple times discussing the fact that he did not “forget” and that Chad has never clearly expressed to us that there would be additional costs for this. Especially considering all the cleanup WE had to do All in all the floors look good. The quarter round on the walls not so much. It’s not fully nailed down in all areas, there are splintered ends, and it just looks like a quick halfass job. We are happy our floors are done, but would not use their service again:"
