"Great! Called on Monday 3/14/16, Ron Valenta came to my house, checked the job site and gave me a quote. Tuesday 3/15/16 they installed the best Tankless water heater and got rid of the tank type water heater that Master Plumbing did not fix but made worse. The Navien NPE-240A-NG Tankless Water heater was expensive but worth it. It has been able to provide steady hot water when 2 showers and the dishwasher were running. In the past 7 months it has been in service, it has always been able to provide more hot water than we could use. I highly recommend Valenta Plumbing for their prompt repair service and the Tankless water they sell."

"I was happy at first and had confidence in their experience. However, the installers had no intention of listening to me and would wait until I was out of ear shot to make decisions like venting out the front of the house or placing ductwork under the joists where they could have been between. They could care less about how the basement was going to be finished and made a lot of work by not sticking to the plan that the estimator and I had come up with. They were unwilling to run the thermostat wire back to the original placement and instead want to put it by a door because it was easy. All in all, watch out. The installer said he had 30 years experience in HVAC, but it is actually 30 years experience of weaseling out of work."

"<br /> We received a quote in late may and then ordered the work about the middle of June. We had a special order for the shower/tube walls that into late July, were still not in . We then agreed with affordable plumbing, to let them do the special order on site. The work finally progressed with a few more problems. When the installer showed up ,they had the wrong walls. This was corrected that afternoon. We then discovered that the doors we were reusing needed longer top and bottom tracks . Reorder took another 5 to 6 days. We were very happy with the final product and the excellent installation. To do over again I would make sure up front that the product was readily available and all the measurements were correct. We should have had an onsite measurement ,instead of using prior measurements from previous quotes. <br /> <br />"

"SINGLE BEST PLUMBER I'VE EVER HAD. <br /> Had these guys put my water heater. When he came, he was able to put it in in just 2 hours, including taking out the old gas waterheater and putting 220v in with an electrician he sub-contracted <br /> He gave me the option of purchasing my water heater myself! Most plumbers would go get that and mark up the price on it! He gave me a bid for him supplying the unit i wanted or me supplying it so i could choose! AMAZINGLY PROFESSIONAL. <br /> Super fast, super reasonable, super professional. These guys are doing all plumbing for me from now on. <br />"

"Everything went very quickly. He was very thorough. He went to the hardware store to get the pipe replacement pieces. That work was not planned. He was very gracious about offering to fix that for me. His rates were very reasonable. <br />"

"Very good carpenter skills . Looks really nice . <br />Only thing I thought was kinda not appropriate was it states in <br />The contract they will use off premises bathrooms and they both <br />Asked to use are bathroom not one but twice . <br />The labor was very expensive beings that it was $750 to just Install the two doors . Their work is very nice but I think $750 is a Bit much . <br />"

"Jerry is a wonderful plumber and a great guy. So glad a neighbor referred him to us. We will definitely call him when we have plumbing issues, need a water heater, etc. in the future. He is professional, experienced, and efficient. In addition, he's the kind of guy you can trust to work in your home, and he doesn't do unnecessary repairs to make his job easier. We've had some negative experiences with plumbers in the past, and he made this a pleasant experience."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Ryan, IA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
