"Ralph was so nice to work with. I emailed him the day we smelled a sewer odor coming from our basement. He was concerned for our family (since the smell is not pleasant or good for anyone's health). Prior to calling Ralph, we had a sewer company come out and charge us an arm and leg for a service call with no fix to our problem, blaming the smell on the main sewer line and telling us it was going to cost $700 to let us know if that was the problem and another 10k if that was the problem! Ralph assured us this can't be the case. He came by shortly after and found the problem within minutes. It was just a broken pipe in our spare basement bedroom, easy cheap fix! In addition, Ralph gave our handyman plumbing advice so that we could pay our handyman to fix the small things (such as connecting the water/ice maker up and installing a rainfall waterfall showerhead). Last, but not least, he helped us fix our leaky furnace. I wrote this glowing review because when I left to work my husband was very worried about hiring a plumber and the cost associated with the work. By lunch, my husband called me beaming about Ralph and how happy he was that we found him. I am sharing this review so others know how great he is. Our family highly recommends him!"

Mark Scala promptly came to our house this Saturday morning and had cleared the clog at the main trap. I selected Scala Sewer & Drain because of the reviews here on "Home Advisor" and I was impressed as everyone else. Having just come in from a long flight the night before, Mark was very courteous , professional and indicated he'd be right over within the hour. From the time Mark arrived our drain was cleared within the hour. Considering the task at hand, the area was cleaned and disinfected with bleach with little or no debris left behind. "A simple drain pipe replacement under a bathroom floor turned into a replacement of three lengths of drain pipe. In addition, when the finish up work in the basement was done, the waste lines going into that pipe were reconfigured so the washing machine and utility sink now drain directly into the pipe. Which let us take out the sump pump. Then, the plan to fit a pvc shield around the sewer pipe to the town sewer turned into a major excavation of a trench through an eight foot bed of shale because the incoming water line is 1/4 inch from the outgoing sewer line. And had a hole in it so it had to be replaced after all. The crew did a great job, they were pleasant throughout and I would recommend them to anyone."
