"Dealing with Steve was wonderful. Very responsive, told me what and when to expect what. The installation went fine but there was a broken clip on my bed frame from when they moved it. Some seams are also a little more noticeable than I thought they would be after just a few months. They did give me the best price for the same carpet as their competitors."

"We met Randy at the Crofton showroom. He quickly found that we had found them on Angie's list and were making our first ever carpet purchase. He gave us what he called "Carpet 101" so that we had the knowledge to make an intelligent carpet purchase. Over the next 3-4 days, we decided on a great carpet that fit our budget. Randy worked hard to help us find the right carpet for our home and gave us a great price. Workers showed up on time the morning of install and were done by early afternoon. We've had the carpet now for 3 weeks and are very happy with the purchase."

"After sending an e-mail to Petersen's Carpet & Flooring, I was promptly contacted by Gayle Petersen. She scheduled a time to visit the cabin to take measurements, and after that visit I stopped by the showroom to pick out different flooring options. She provided her expertise as I looked at different options but also gave me space to explore what was available. (She even insisted that I eat some blueberries from her lunch after noticing I was a little hungry!) I decided to use a combination of carpet, luxury vinyl, and solid hardwood in various areas of the cabin. Gayle even made a followup visit to the cabin to help me determine whether the lines in the vinyl I originally picked out would work with the bathroom, which had many weird angles. Ultimately we settled on a different pattern that better fit the geometry of the room. The three types of flooring were installed by three different teams of installers across four different days, and Petersen's Carpet & Flooring worked with me to find dates that fit in my schedule. Each installation team was prompt, courteous, and professional -- I have no complaints about the quality of their work or the finished product. They worked very hard. The final result looks great! Throughout the entire process, I kept in touch with Gayle, and she quickly answered any questions I e-mailed her. Carrie was also a great help, assisting with scheduling and keeping me up to date. The new flooring really freshened up the cabin; I'm glad I chose Petersen's Carpet & Flooring and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others. It was a pleasure working with Gayle and the team -- they're good folks. I sure don't miss the pink carpet!"

"Using Angie's List of carpet installers/repairors, I sorted the list by proximity to by residence. There was one clear "A" performer with a statistically significant enough count of feedback. I mean this company had "A's" in every category, with nothing but great feedback. For a small job like mine, I had to call them. When I called, the response on the other side was very professional and cordial. It was terrific to hear that Mr. Rivers would be able to stop by today, and that a check with him would allow a more specific time. Mr. Rivers stopped by that evening and explained how the repair would yield excellent results. We agreed on a price (very reasonable, and I know prices), date, and time for the same week. He returned as promised, and though the job was relatively a small one for carpet professionals, he applied the appropriate time and care to ensure excellent results! I couldn't be happier, and am thinking through putting down wood in other parts of my home. His company is my first choice at this point."

"It was effortless. I contact Rick's less than a week before Thanksgiving. I informed them I was having family in town and over to our house for the holiday, but due to previous pet incidents I needed the carpeting/padding all replaced on the main level of my townhouse. For no additional charge they came within 4 days and did it all in one day. The workers were so studious it was unbelievable. They are hard-working and skilled at what they do. The final product looks amazing and I'm really happy I went to Rick's (a friend referred them to me). Good job guys and thank you!"

"Carpet Yard came recommended by my father who bowled with Alan Fox for many years and had used Carpet yard to carpet their basement and upstairs many years ago.  With the purchase of my first home I got several bids and checked prices and decided to go with Carpet yard even though it was a little more expensive than a few other places.  I chose Carpet Yard because I wanted a company that knew flooring, and carpets, and had been in business for a long time.  Chain stores had lower bids but I had read some poor reviews with the installation crews they sub contracted out for.  The carpet we chose took a little while longer to get from the manufacturer than I had hoped, yet still arrived and was installed in time for my family to move in, on time.  The carpet looks great and feels great.  We have lived one year with this carpet and my family is still very pleased with the look and feel of the carpet.  I was home during installation and the crew did a marvelous job and cleaned up very nicely.  They laid down protection for my other flooring which had recently been sanded and stained.  <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Saint Inigoes, MD

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
