"When we decided to finally upgrade our fence, we scoped out some of the fences in our neighborhood. One of the fences that stood out for its craftsmanship and beauty had a CLM Home Improvements sign on it. I contacted Carlos for a quote and he was responsive, professional, and polite. Carlos listened to our concerns, offered suggestions, and gave us a few options to choose from. We were concerned this process might take a while because we live on a corner and our fence required a permit. In fact, another fence company wouldn't even work with us because our project required a permit. Carlos kept us informed throughout the permit process, which was not as bad as we had anticipated. On installation day, Carlos and his team arrived promptly and removed our old, ugly chain link fence and installed a beautiful 6' wooden privacy fence. We couldn't be more thrilled with it! As far as pricing, CLM's price was the best -- in one case nearly $5K LOWER than what another company quoted us! "We are extremely pleased with the work of Earth Friendly Services overall.  How the space looks now really exceeds what our expectation was for the end result.  Our basement space was pretty much a mess and posed a number of remodeling challenges, including a very uneven floor surface, moving of the gas meter, support poles in weird places, multiple water valves and other items that require access.  Yet with how it looks now, you'd never know it was such a mess to begin with.  Both of the lead guys for the company, Steve and Bill, were good listeners and were patient with our questions and our issues as things came up when they were doing the work.  Both of them had good attention to detail and worked to get to what we wanted, rather than what would have been easiest for them.  For example, we asked them to use a type of drop-ceiling tile they'd not worked with before, and they got it done, with the result being a fantastic-looking, modern ceiling, rather than the industrial look most weird spaces end up using.  There was no down-time during the project, as someone (usually several people) was/were down in the basement working every day, resulting in their finishing the job exactly in the timeframe that they said they would (originally they said it would take three to three-and-a-half weeks, and they were done in three weeks and three days).  There was none of that "Hey, this is going to cost a little more than we said it would" or any of the nightmare stories you hear from other people getting their basements finished.  It cost exactly what they said it would up-front.  Further, their total cost was $8K lower than the closest bid we received for the same job!  It sounds crazy to say this, but these days it feels like an oddity when contractors do exactly what they say they are going to do for exactly what they say it's going to cost, but that is exactly what happened in our experience with Earth Friendly.  This is the company you want to go with if you are on a budget yet nonetheless expect a quality product and a professional contractor with a solid work ethic."

They put in a lot of crappy boards. They were the only ones that I found that replied that would put in the fence that I wanted. Most of it was very good, but, of course, on the far side of the yard I found lots of boards that were not up to snuff. Eight years ago they got the fence in. I wasn't there (when they did the work). I would use them again in the future only if I stood over them with a shotgun. They could have used better boards and given me a lighter gauge. I wasn't there for the most part and they were all Hispanic so I've got no idea how the workers were, but the contractor that was watching over them had no complaints.

"Overall, I thought the person that came to my home to give an estimate of the patio we wanted to build was not very professional. She came up with a sketch for the patio which did not incorporate the design ideas that I wanted. She was willing to re-sketch the design 2 times to get it right, but then seemed to get annoyed that I asked questions about the materials that were being used, the options that were available...etc. Granted she may have been having a bad week, but I expected more. Ended up going with a different contractor and glad I did because the quote I got from them was $1000 less and I loved the job they did.

"Adrian was great. The estimate was about $20,000 for the second story, composite deck we want which means that the project will be put off for a little while. We will probably get a couple other estimates for comparison at that point, but we were very happy with our consultation experience with Adrian."

The work was done very professionally and quickly.  Crew cleaned up everything, including old fence materials.  Fence looks terrific and we were very pleased with the entire process.

"We met with Glenn and Josh a few times before beginning the project. They had a nice professional proposal and were always responsive on the phone. They preferred phone and mail over email but that was fine with me.   I priced out about 8 different masonry companies since the price for this foundation and slab was all over the map (range from 9k to 24k).  J&G was slightly higher than the lowest company but their customer service, reputation on Angieslist, and responsiveness made us select them.  We had a few weather delays.  Glenn was great at explaining what they were doing and when.  If I asked them to tidy up the site, they took care of it right away.
 
They laid the rebar for the footers and while we waited for inspection, the rain made a big mess of everything.  After waiting for the ground to dry out, they cleaned up the holes and removed all the soft mud.  The rebar was all put back into place and we were able to pour the concrete and have it set up.  We also had a piece of rebar attached to the footer rebar for a footer electrical ground.  Once our electrician comes out, the grounding wire can be tied in to the rebar. 
After that week, things moved a bit faster with building the block walls with anchor bolts, backfilling, adding a load of gravel for grading, and finally pouring the slab.  In their proposal, Glenn had written that they would do the 6" wire mesh in the slab but then proposed having the concrete supplier add fiber reinforcement to the concrete at the plant instead.  The inspector was okay with this change.  My understanding is that while the fiber reinforced concrete is slightly more expensive, it's less labor.
It's been about 3 weeks and we are very satisfied with the work J&G performed.  Other contractors have all said it looks like they did a great job."

"They showed up towards the end of the time window.  They were quick and did everything I needed them to.  They gave me a couple of recommendations for work that could be done to perfect my electrical system with a quoted price but they did not pressure me to have it done.

"The light fixture was installed correctly. One faucet was only half installed. The other was installed but leaked because it was not installed properly. They rushed as they were more concerned about the time. It was supposed to be 1 person for 3 hrs or 2 for 1.5 hrs. With 2 people only one actually works and the other watches. I now have to hire a plumber to complete one installation and redo the other because water stands in the sink. Plumbing is obviously not their area of expertise!!!! Would never hire again."
