"Our experience with them was good. He was on time and was very straightforward. He did not try to sell us something we did not need. In fact, he ordered the part and told me how to put it in so he did not have to come back. I did it myself. It was very easy. He offered to come back if we wanted him to, but he said that we could do it ourselves if we want. Since it was easy, we just decided to do it ourselves. I would call him again."

"This review might seem very mixed, because my experience was such.  Ed is an expert at what he does, and he is a very nice, professional guy. <br /> The down side of my experience was dealing with a woman who may or may not have been his wife.  This woman works as a receptionist on the phone and in their showroom.  I can't ever, in 31 years of homeowing, think of a time that i had to engage with a  more rude, ignorant person. On the phone, she was very cranky and nasty. I could use other more accurate adjectives, but I won't.  I had go into their showroom one time, and when i opened the front door, I heard her yell "CUSTOMER" to alert her son that someone was there.  <br /> I feel badly for Ed and his son, who really are trying to do a good job running a nice family business. I think they're afraid of her, and I really can't say I blame them. <br /> This woman is an enormous detriment to this company.  In the future, if we were to use them again, I'd have to be guaranteed to have no dealing with her. <br /> <br />"

"Service was excellent. My visits to the store, the ordering and the installation all went smoothly. Everyone was pleasant to work with. Installers arrived on time - crucial to me because I was taking a morning off from work. It was the best carpet installation I've ever had done. I will definitely use them again for a new kitchen tile floor."

"I called Expert Flooring Services, Inc after several attempts to find a reputable Carpet person/company. I called and Carl returned my call within a short time period. I explained what I was looking for and he set up an appointment to meet me that same day! He was prompt and even arrived at the house before I did! We discussed my basic carpeting needs, he measured the rooms and provided an abundance of carpet samples for me to pick from. Carl was very informative and offered suggestions when I was unsure. I felt like we were old friends! I picked the carpet and padding i wanted and he provided me an itemized breakdown of all the costs associated with the job! There were no hidden costs from the estimate I was provided. Dan and Carl did the installation and were very professional and did a terrific job! i could not be happier and will definitely recommend Expert Flooring Services, Inc to anybody looking for floor work and will use them for any of my future carpet/flooring needs! Thanks, Guys, for making carpet shopping/installation such an easy task! <br />"

"Recently Creative Carpet & Flooring of Highland, IN installed hardwood flooring for us and what a beautiful job it was! The flooring completely transformed the entire upper level of our home. We had the pleasure of working with Steve at CC&F. Steve was very knowledgable, honest and especially patient with me with regard to all my questions and visits to the store. The installers were professional and worked efficiently and diligently. My family and I had minimal disruption during the entire project which was nice especially since the kids were still in school at the time of the install. We would not hesitate to recommend Creative Carpet & Flooring to family and friends. Thank you Steve and Creative Carpet & Flooring!!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Saint John, IN

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
