"I had absolutely the best possible experience with A to Z Pest Control here in Central Texas. I picked three pest control companies in my area through Angi's List. A to Z Pest Control was the first to respond and gave me the most affordable quote. A second company was considerably higher and the third company took a few hours to respond. I went with A to Z and was 100% satisfied with my choice. Kelsey in the A to Z Pest Control offices responded within minutes with a quote. She answered my questions about their guarantee (30 days) and we scheduled an appointment for this morning. This level of responsiveness means a lot to me and probably to you as well. In addition, affordability is important to those of us on fixed incomes! This morning, Tony Sosa, one of the owners, arrived right on time (!), got to work straightaway assessing the situation in which a bajillion wasps/hornets/yellow jackets had set up housekeeping in my little 7x7' shed. Demonstrating a lot of caution, Tony sprayed the shed twice and removed the nests. Throughout, he was polite, professional, pleasant, efficient and obviously experienced in dealing with stinging insects. He also sprayed my larger shed, as a preventative action. I pointed out to Tony that in the previous 24 hours I had spotted wasps buzzing around my security cameras on the house. He used a different product to spray the eaves and along the foundation of my house to keep insects from invading the residence. I was really impressed with how affordable these services were, Tony's professionalism, Kelsey's pleasant and efficient nature as well as all the many positive aspects of the entire process. If you are in Bell, Williamson or Travis Counties in the Austin, TX area, reach out to A to Z Pest Control to take care of insects, mosquitos, bed bugs, wildlife (including snakes!), rodents, scorpions, termites, fleas and ticks. I think you will pleased, just the way I was."

"To the point, flexible, quick to respond, price point that makes sense, no nickel n dime-ing for irrelevant items... I could go on. I had a few quotes done for a rat problem. Tony came out and it just made obvious sense to go with him and his crew. They took care of the issue; haven't heard rats since. I then had a roach problem with my tenants a few weeks later. I called him directly vs getting quotes from others. He knew exactly what to do and got the issue taken care of quick. Yall don't need to go looking anywhere else. A to Z is my go-to for pest concerns from now on."

"Very prompt, professional, courteous and communicated very well. I learned a lot about Pepe le Pew and his harem he had going. They were safely relocated and caught some possums and feral cats that were released. It took about a week and a half to get all three skunks I would see on the security cameras nightly."

"Critter control did an amazing job treating our house for pests. We just moved into a more rural area and wanted an indoor/outdoor bug spray that was safe for babies and pets. The women in the office worked with me to connect me to Phillip, a manager, who called me back immediately and answered all of my questions and assured me critter control would get the job done to our satisfaction. Phillip came out and explained the entire process to us, was extremely professional, courteous, and efficient. Phillip explained what our home would need in the future and also informed us of other services of which we may benefit from. We have had many companies come out and spray for pests but critter control has been our favorite by far! We will definitely be following up with them for continued services."

"I can't recommend Bloodhound highly enough. They found areas through which animals (rats) came into my home that other pest services missed. They were fast, knowledgeable, professional, fairly priced, and went way beyond what I expected. I can't imagine why anyone would hire a different service."

FAQs for bird and bat pest control service projects in Salado, TX

Bats slip through gaps as small as 1/4 inch, so your best defense is a thorough seal-up and a few simple habit tweaks. Start by caulking or screening every crack around chimneys, eaves, and vents. Swap dim porch bulbs for brighter LEDs or motion lights (bats dislike the glare), and consider an ultrasonic deterrent if they keep circling.

Finally, remove easy snacks—cover standing water and skip the nighttime bird-feeder refills. These steps go a long way toward keeping your home bat-free.

Standard homeowners’ insurance rarely pays for bat removal because insurers view it as routine maintenance. You might get partial help for guano cleanup or related repairs, but that varies by policy. Review your insurance policy carefully and contact your provider for a definitive explanation. Securing all entry points remains the homeowner’s responsibility to prevent future incursions.

The sweet spot for bat exclusion is late summer through spring. That window keeps you inside most state rules and protects baby bats that haven’t learned to fly yet. Removal activities are conducted when bats are less active, with some states permitting work from August through May and others ceasing removal in March. Consult a qualified bat removal specialist to confirm the valid timeframe for your area.

Spotting a dead bat can be unsettling, but a calm, careful approach keeps everyone safe. First, call your state wildlife office to report the find and ask about local rules. Snap a quick photo from a distance, then—wearing disposable gloves—place the bat in a sealed plastic bag for disposal as directed.

Wipe down nearby surfaces with disinfectant, wash your hands thoroughly, and schedule a pest-control pro to make sure no live bats (or harmful guano) remain hidden in the house.
