"I had Ben and his sons come do some interior work on my home. He converted a bathtub to a shower and changed out our vanities. They also did some interior paint and drywall work. We were thrilled to find someone that we could trust. His work was great. We are very satisfied with his work and pricing. He is our go to man from now on with any of our interior needs. Happy customer!!"

"Rather than fix the issue the first 2 calls, more refrigerant was pumped into the system. This cost me $75 for each call plus the cost of the refrigerant. The 3rd time, they fixed a valve and refilled the refrigerant and I am monitoring to see if this really fixed the problem. So I am out $225 for service calls fro the same problem and the cost of the refrigerant. I think they take this approach intentionally."

"They never showed and never called. "I" called to reschedule on Wednesday 3/5/14; again no show ans no call that day or the next. "I" called Thursday eve and a woman called back with excuses about emergency calls they had! Rescheduled for 3/7/14 and they finally showed. |There is NO excuse in this day and age of cell phones NOT to call a client to let them know you won't be able to make the appt. |When you take off 3 entire days without pay to be at the appointment THEY made and they don't bother to show up or call...it's exactly why contractors have bad reputations. As a Christian company they are to conduct business differently than the world. ..not just like it! I'm sure if they had an employee who didn't show up or call in for a week they would no doubt have fired them....which is what I should have done! They did do the work, and were quick and polite....but I don't think I will use them again."

"We highly recommend FC General Contractors for your home restoration needs. The estimate was provided by the owner. She stayed on target and within our financial budget. The owners of FC General Contractors are Joel and Beatriz. Beatriz strengths are attention to detail, written and verbal communication, creativity, and dependability. Beatriz helped us choose our flooring based on functionality, maintenance, color scheme coordination, and our budget. Joel’s strengths include hands on leadership, teamwork, collaboration, problem solving, and decision making. Their crew works cohesively, and follows directions. The crew’s skill set includes craftsmanship, knowledge about tools, materials, and building, plus planning and scheduling. FC General Contractors restored our home after a natural disaster. We love our new handicap shower, tile and wood cork laminate installation throughout our home, closet makeover, interior and exterior painting, and miscellaneous jobs such as replacing all trim, interior and exterior doors and jambs. We feel like we are living in a brand new home!"

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in Saltillo, TX

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
