"Excellent. We replaced a wood burning fireplace with a gas fireplace. We asked the company to see if they could remove the old tile without damaging it, a tricky task requiring some finesse. They managed to do that very well, and we were able to clean the old tile and have them place the tiles around the new fireplace which required a lot of precise cuts to fit the new fireplace size. They did a great job, and replaced/repaired and textured the sheetrock surrounding the fireplace. The workers were very neat and cleaned up everything when they finished. Highly recommended"

"My bathroom floor had to be replaced due to a water leak. Juan clearly explained to me what needed to be done. He met me at the tile store and helped me select the tile for my bathroom. That was very appreciated since I did not know anything about tile. He arrived on time to do the work. The work was completed in 3 days. "Bob came out, was nice, gave a bid.  Afterwards we had a hard time getting them to schedule, apparently they were overbooked.  Then we got a call, could they come out tomorrow?  Work was done in two days, and is mostly very nice, with the exception of some badly cut and placed T-molding. 

The problems came afterwards.  The Angie's List posting clearly says, "No subs," but when I tried to give his workers a check made out to Floors on First, I encountered a certain amount of confusion.  Bob then called and said that he HAD subbed out the job and that he wanted us to make the check out to the workers, although he said we could really make it to him or his business as well,  but he didn't really want that.  It was pretty confusing.

We considered this but as we had hired Bob, not his subs, with the expectation that if something went wrong we could turn to him, and not to subs whose addresses, phone numbers, and license numbers, if any, we did not have, we sent a check made out to Floors on First.  My wife got a rude and aggressive phone call from Bob demanding that we swap out his check. He complained that he doesn't make any profit on these jobs where he doesn't sell the flooring, and now he has to pay taxes on it.

If we wanted to have a job done with no guarantees, we could have used a skilled day laborer instead rather than paying $2300 to someone who presents himself as the service provider and then turns the table on you afterwards for his personal tax reasons.  He is not someone we would choose to do business with again.

Carlos read the "installation" section of the manual in less than one minute and quickly grasped what needed to be done. He had to make a trip to Home Depot to get materials to cover some of the exposed wiring. He did a good job in less than two hours for a very reasonable price. "Ampelio and Caesar from Aguilar Tile did a wonderful job! Our master bathroom shower had a custom drain that was installed incorrectly by the original tile setters (not Aguilar Tile) 6 years ago. Ampelio identified the problem and removed and replaced some tiles and made the drain smaller so it is now removable and no longer clogs. Everything came out perfectly and looks perfect and good as new. Ampelio was super efficient, on time and very clean. I will definitely hire Aguilar Tile Installation for any future jobs!"
