"Work went very well...Jennifer (and Steve) were extremely helpful with advice and suggestions for the remodel. They were very understanding regarding our budget and decorating tastes. Replaced cabinets and bathtub tile surrounds in 2 bathrooms. In the kitchen, new cabinets, quartz counter top and tile back splash were installed. New vinyl flooring installed throughout entire house. All the workmen were courteous, respectful and cleaned up after themselves. It was a pleasure working with Romans and we are extremely pleased with the outcome...would certainly use them again."

"My experience with Rainbow was very positive. David Lopez explained the cleaning process to me thoroughly, and asked several questions to assess what sort of treatment my rugs needed (what sort of 'stuff' had gotten into our rugs through the years). I received a phone call after the spot check, explaining that the rugs performed well, then a call to let me know they'd be ready "tomorrow" then a call that they were indeed ready. They offered to deliver the cleaned rugs to our home, but I drove to their store to pick them up."

"We went through Costco's floor program with Shaw Floors once I was able to determine that CRT Flooring would be the provider (we'd used them before in a previous house). The entire experience was great from start to finish. I had originally been concerned that the Costco program would not offer the entire Shaw product line to their customers (since the rebate was so high) however found I was wrong and that I could choose any flooring I liked. Ewell was the salesman that assisted me and he did a great job of identifying flooring options for me. Once we settled on everything it was all completed within 6 weeks. The installers were great - they cleaned up after themselves and worked efficiently to get the job done in 4 days (one of the rooms we were replacing poorly laid wood floors with wood and this can be quite tedious). To my surprise, we also received our Costco rebate within 3 weeks of the work being completed which I see as an added bonus. Would highly recommend CRT Flooring."

"We gave Mr. Johnson and his company a call late April where they promptly came to our home to access the work that needed to be done. The estimate was really reasonable compared to the others we received and we were especially happy with the extra clarity and detail Mr. Johnson provided us in their proposal. <br /> From the moment they walk in the door, you just get that sense of professionalism and experience that I was looking for. This carried on through the planning stages of the project and subsequent phone calls, emails and project revisions. Needless to say, they were spot on in their original estimate about the work that needed to be addressed. The only few changes to the original estimate were add-ons that I decided to put in the budget. <br /> Mr. Johnson and his company realize how important the planning phase of a project can be.  This goes a long way in reducing overall material and labor costs. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail are a high as they can be. I would definitely recommend their work. <br />"

"This guy has saved me money. We went and picked up the tile that we liked and we brought a sample of it home to see if it matched with the furniture and things like that. I showed it to him and told him where I had priced it and he said he thought that he could get the same tile for a lesser rate elsewhere. He saved me $800 on the purchase, which he didn't have to do. This guy is very reputable and he does what ever he says he is going to do. The only limiting factor that I can perceive with him is that you need to be able to speak Spanish to talk to him. I think that he does as good a work as I have ever seen a tile man do. He can build it if you can describe it. He does other stuff too but I think that tiling is his strong seat. He had to work me in with other jobs because I wanted it done before Thanksgiving. He worked with me on that. He will come within 10 minutes of the scheduled time, one way or the other. This is my first experience with tiling and I really don't know what his competition is like. He has also done some painting for me since then."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in San Juan, TX

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
