Owners, Janka and Ron White (husband and wife) opened the doors in 1986.\nPrior to opening the business Ron had 12 years of flooring installation experience.\nWith that he saw the industry lacking in “professionalism”, mainly involving the installation side of it. He felt the installers were not properly trained and the ones that were good at their craft did not get the deserved recognition in pay or acknowledgment\nIt was his desire to change that. First with hiring their own in-house installation crew, having full control of the quality of the installations as well as making sure his installers received a fair compensation, along with benefits.\n\nBy doing this it also set Floor Dimensions apart from the competition who was still hiring by job and who ever they could find at that time.\nThe final results were 100 percent customer satisfaction as well as bring more professionalism to the industry.\n\n\nMention Angie's List and receive a free supply of cleaners for your new floor.\n\nAll Angie's List members receive 10% off on all purchases.

"We had a really great time working with Oren and Michale. From the first time we talked to them to the very end, they were super good at what they do. T hey changed our old-looking house into a new, nice one that feels really welcoming. Our project included complete home remodeling, new roof, solar panels, new elevations for exterior walls, landscaping and hardscaping work. They did a very, very good job making everything look perfect and paying attention to every little thing. I think everyone should use them for their house!"

"Green Planet Remodeling just completed our kitchen remodel and we couldn’t be happier with the results. They were upfront about costs, stuck to the schedule, and the quality of their work was excellent. The design process was collaborative — they really took the time to understand how we use our kitchen and gave us suggestions that made a big difference (hello, hidden spice rack!). They handled everything with professionalism and made what I thought would be a chaotic process feel pretty stress-free. No hidden fees, no runarounds, just good people doing great work!"

"Would never use this company again if you paid me! The employees were wonderful. The owner is a thief and a complete jerk. There were some cracks in our installed tiles. They would not respond and never came to fix them. Then, they "lost" our estimate and tried to charge us $125 more for the defective work. I asked for the estimate and "they couldn't find it". We were in the middle of moving, so I didn't have a copy handy, but I knew what they had told me. I told them I would pay that amount and gave them my credit card until they could produce documentation. They never did. 3 months later, they left me a message saying they did find the estimate and I was correct on the amount but they were now charging me late fees and sending me to collections for $50. I spoke to the owner thinking we could easily clear this up. He was rude, wouldn't listen to me, started yelling at me, and then called me a liar. Hard to believe this guy is in business. It's only because he has great employees who try to make things right."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in San Francisco, CA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
