"Overall, it went great. This was our first remodel and Chris made sure everything ran smoothly. Being an old home, we expected some surprises, but Chris and his team handled every obstacle we encountered (there were a lot!). My wife is very particular and has a very distinct style. Chris was able to take her ideas and a few pictures from Pinterest and transform our rundown, dark old adobe home into a modern, bright and amazing space. Chris does not sub out his work. He has his own guys that are there every day and really care about there work. Big thanks to Josh, Mario, and Edwin. They worked all day, every day, even weekends, to make sure our home was done perfect and on time. I would recommend Rounds Construction to anyone looking for a professional, reliable, talented, and caring contractor for any of your remodeling needs. Best in the valley, period."

"Josh called me and gave me the names of the pros he uses to do this type of work. He explained that if I work as my own General Contractor, I could save myself the 20% he would charge to manage the projects. I appreciate all the referrals."

"Rojas construction did an amazing job with our home! We couldn’t be happier how it turned out. Joel Rojas was our lead contact and he listened to all of our needs Without being pushy or trying to upswell us. The guys were always on time to start the days projects and they were all very professional and courteous. They understood we were living in our house during construction with kids and they worked around us. They were priced under other competitors for the same job but didn’t cut any corners. We love our house and next time we need any work done we are calling Joel and his team at Rojas construction."

"Prompt and fair on price. Cameron is a nice guy. I did have to do some touch ups myself after he left and he seemed in a rush. Good overall, just wish he would’ve taken a bit more time to get all the little things done right. That said, I’m a perfectionist and this would probably have been a 5 star job for anyone else."

"I know nothing about construction. M3 is a family owned business and has exceptional reviews, which is why I selected them (after getting several other quotes). This was my first remodel on my first home (which is REALLY old) - I had LOTS of questions, and M3 was very responsive and patient with me throughout the whole process. They took a very family oriented approach with me and I never felt that they were out to make the big bucks with me. When I was designing the remodel, Brian provided me with his recommendations, and M3 did things for me that I didn't even request (like put together a ceiling fan and come up with a better solution to my electrical issue that saved me A LOT of money). They were very fast - in and out within a week for a whole kitchen remodel. I rated them a and quot;Band quot; in quality as some of the tiny 1/2 inch glass backsplash aren't 100% aligned. Also, the countertops were ordered before the cabinets were installed. The backsplash is not noticeable unless I point it out (it's just me being picky). They were absolutely wonderful and I believe I paid an excellent price for what I got. Come time for my bathroom remodel, they will be the ones I call. <br />"

"Where to start?  We called a few different construction companies to get a bid to do the work of essentially building an 'L' shape around the East and South side of our existing home.  The new addition would be a garage, master bedroom behind that, and extending the kitchen out into an open floor plan.  Joe and his wife Bev were the only ones that seemed serious about the work and what we needed to do to even get a bid.  He recommended a drawing guy, and then he made a bid off of that.  It wasn't the cheapest one we got, but they were the most detailed and frankly, the ones we felt most comfortable with.  The work started around Dec 2015 and ended around April.  There are many things to detail, so I won't get into all of them, but Joe went out of his way to make sure we had heat, water, and electric during this remodel.  Not an easy thing to do considering all of that was essentially located in the spot we had just demolished.  During the many months, Joe was always there to answer our questions and concerns.  Bev is such a joy and she helped us novices pick out what would look best in our new spaces.  It was a long process, but I can't recommend them enough.  <br>"

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in San Manuel, AZ

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
