"It was my first time working with an interior design firm, and I chose Hermosa Style Co (after interviewing five other designers) because of their aesthetic, availability, and the price and flexibility of their services. I needed my fireplace re-designed, my kitchen updated, the interiors painted, and help with new furniture selection for my family and dining rooms. I wanted to make the transition from a mid-century aesthetic to a more Tulum-esque global organic vibe, but I didn't have a high-end budget. Heather and Alexa did a site visit, documented my existing furniture and art pieces, and came up with a plan for construction and furniture that did not blow my budget. I am very happy with the final results! The project was executed thoughtfully from start to finish, including project management of the construction phase."

"The salesperson met me out at the house (new build), for an estimate. The painters were in painting that day, so she arrived early, and ran in solo before I got there and measured for the blinds. This was great to me, as I have a small baby and didn't really want to drag her into the house with the painters in there. She wrote me a quote right there for the blinds, each blind would be $64. There was no mention of it being a special or anything, just a quote for shutters (which I didn't want) and then the blinds (faux wood, white 2"), each itemized out to $64/each, installed. I went to their showroom because it's very close, to do the first payment, and they couldn't find their copy of the order. I ended up having to go back 3 times until they were able to find my order, and I was able to make the deposit. I asked when I would be contacted by the installation coordinator. They said she would call me. I went back a couple weeks later to pay the balance, as it was getting close to when the blinds would be in, and they couldn't find the order again for me to make the last payment. She just wrote down my credit card number on a piece of paper (I wasn't thrilled about that, it makes me nervous, will they properly shred it before they throw it out? Which is why I went in person to pay.) I asked the person helping me that day if they could let me know when the blinds would be in and when I would be contacted by their installation coordinator, as I hadn't heard anything yet. She told me she would check and give me a call (she took down my phone number). I never heard from her. I called the next day. She put me on hold. She was finally able to locate my order, it was in the warehouse, and I would be contacted in the next day or two by the install coordinator. I was contacted in that time frame by the install coordinator and set our install date. The guys who came to install were awesome! They were honestly the best part of the experience. They were friendly, nice, respectful, worked quickly, and cleanly. As they were getting ready to go and I was walking around checking the blinds, I realized that they had missed one in the kids bathroom. He checked and said he had installed all the blinds ordered. I went back to the original quote and saw that she hadn't quoted me for that bathroom, but only the casita bathroom. He told me he would measure and that the salesperson would get in touch with me the next day. Cut to 1 week later, she finally calls me, says she will get the quote over to me for the one blind. Another couple days go by and I finally get a quote, which is $84/blind for the one blind she forgot to measure. Now I will take ownership that I missed it on the sheet of paper that had the 19 other windows and was scribbled all over, and hard to read. Had I been able to walk the property with her and make sure she got all the blinds, it would've been better, and I'm mad at myself for not insisting on that. I told her no on the extra blinds for $20 more. I get that to send an installer out to put in one blind is not efficient, but I found her explanation problematic. When I asked how we got from $64/each installed to $84/each, she told me it was a $20 install fee. She then told me that the price I got for the blinds was a special 10 for $599 special, which was not explained to me in person or on the paperwork. Again, while I understand it costs money to send out an installer, it bothers me that when she did the quote, it makes no mention of a special. Also, how is each blind, when some are massive windows and some tiny bathroom windows, $64/each? If it's a special, tell the customer, and explain it. I am a small business owner and I explain all fees and discounts and specials to my customers, so that they understand if they are getting a special price. I honestly was annoyed with this company and their communication or lack thereof to begin with, and this just put a bad taste in my mouth. The product is fine, the price is great, but you have to chase them to get answers and I didn't like the resolution for the one blind."

"We ordered the pad, they sent us a kit to create the template used to make the pad. Was easy to use and sent it back. A few weeks later the pad came and fit perfectly. I couldn't be more satisfied."

"Jeni showed up in November to take a look at the bedroom and bath and get an idea of what I wanted. I was on a shoestring budget and I wanted a beautiful end result. I got it. <br /> She came once to take a look at the rooms. She helped me choose a bedspread and she came back a week later with fabric samples for the window treatments. She heard what I wanted- asked question to make sure she understood- and offered some other options. She gave me some great ideas on what I could do, sent me several emails with pictures of her designs, and showed up for install day. <br /> From start to finish, it was so much fun to turn my rooms into something out of a magazine- and it was MY room- not hers- because she really listened and then helped me get the results I wanted. "I moved to my new home the end of May...unfortunately while the renovations were still going on. In doing so, I had other matters to attend to other than unpacking. The day before I was supposed to return to work I realized that I desperately needed help in that area. She was most responsive and immediately found a professional organizer, Cynthia Peden, to assist me that afternoon. Cynthia was just what I needed...she was extremely professional, calm in her approach and sized up the situation very quickly. With my input, she developed a plan and room by room made tremendous progress in a few short hours. It was a tremendous relief to have someone so proficient in organization helping me settle in. In addition, she was personable and kind which made it even more of a wonderful experience. The money for this service was well spent and in the future I will use them again.... I can't thank Valerie enough for responding so readily to my needs. Again, I have such favorable feelings about my interaction with Cynthia...she is an exceptional person. I highly recommend her to anyone in need of excellent organizational skills since I know firsthand  the positive contribution she can make to your home (or office for that matter). <br /> <br />  In additon, Cynthia and Valerie shared some valuable resources with me, such as Rubbish Works and Classy Closets. Both are on Angie's List and provided excellent services. Lastly, Valerie also put me in touch with a housecleaning service (Sue Bowen) who was exceptional. "They were very professional and courteous and answered all of our questions up front, prior to the work. Then they performed the service in the timeframe that they stated. The job came out looking excellent and is far superior to what the car had on it previously. We are excited to see if it helps reduce the interior heat some, as was stated up front. The Summer will tell, but the wife already believes that it has helped. The top tier tinting product reduces night time glare and daytime sun, while not being excessively dark in color shade. Overall we are very pleased with the job and glad that we chose "A Better Tint" to do it. <br />"
