"Great. We worked with David who was great to work with. He was knowledgeable, helpful, and very personable. I enjoyed working with him and Specialized Flooring. If we needed more flooring, I'd go to them in a minute. I highly recommend them. The only thing I can say that's negative, BUT no fault of Specialized Flooring, is that sort of work makes a whale of a lot of dust. :)"

"Bila is extremely fair in his pricing. His crew was punctual and hard working. He was very easy to reach when we needed to communicate with him, and prompt in returning calls when messages were left. There were a lot of unexpected areas painted that we were not thinking were part of the quote... A really nice surprise. Several weeks after they finished the job, we called Bila to ask that he come back and address an exterior area that was being worked on at the time that they painted. He came out promptly and did the work... No extra charge. VERY happy with this company. Will keep in our FAVORITES for future painting needs."

"Very well. An old-style tub was removed, and in its place CKBR designed an installed a modern spa-like shower. We also replaced the carpeted bathroom with tile, put in new cabinets and lighting, and added a marble countertop."

"The paint job was fantastic, I am thrilled with the quality of the work that was done.  I have done almost all the work on this house myself but didn't have time to get this done, so I really wanted to feel like the company doing the work was going to do a better job then I would have.  That was definitely the case here, the painter was very thorough, did a lot of sanding and caulking that I would have overlooked and the end result was great, we couldn't be happier with the way it looks.
On the chimney repair there was a mis-communication between what I wanted and what the roofer ended up doing.  I was looking to have step flashing installed around the chimney and the roofer did a different style.  The roofer was a sub contractor that was not there at the time Brian gave me the estimate, so I would advise that if a sub shows up to do the work, make sure that you are on the same page before they get started.  I was happy with the quality of the work, I got up on the roof and saw what they were doing before they left and I have no doubt the leak was fixed, it just wasn't the style I wanted and the finished product looked a little unfinished to me.
This is where I was most impressed with Brian and Audubon, he promptly addressed all of my concerns and worked with me until I was happy with the finished product.  He himself came out and painted the flashing a different color to make it blend in better with my home.   I'm also fairly certain that his estimate ended up being a little low, as the roofers worked on the flashing they found some material under the roof tiles that had to be replaced, so I suspect there were cost overruns.  However Brian stuck to his original estimate which was very impressive.
To me the most important thing you can say about a business is that they have honesty and integrity, and I feel comfortable saying Brian has those attributes.   I would be very comfortable working with him again in the future."

FAQs for wood stairs and railings repair projects in San Manuel, AZ

Hiring a pro to refinish wooden stairs means labor makes up 20% to 30% of your total budget. That price covers sanding, staining, and sealing each step. In most cases, a certified refinisher can tackle a 10-step staircase in about two hours, then apply stain and sealant for a durable, eye-catching finish that stands up to daily traffic.

A pro can sand a standard 10-step staircase in roughly two hours, then needs another four to six hours for each coat of stain and sealant to dry. DIYers should budget up to a week for sanding, staining, and sealing in stages. With a crew on site, the bulk of the work is completed in a single day, minimizing disruptions while still achieving a high-quality finish.

It’s possible to refinish stairs without full-scale sanding by using chemical strippers, power buffers, or simply layering a fresh finish over the existing coat. Chemical strippers break down old stains and sealants, while buffers quickly shave off surface material. Even so, a quick hand-sand with fine-grit paper helps the new finish bond properly and look smooth. As always, suit up in protective gear and follow product directions to keep your wood—and yourself—safe.

For most stair projects, you’ll want two sandpaper grits. Begin with 80- to 120-grit to strip the old finish and even out rough spots, then move to 150- to 220-grit for a smooth, ready-for-stain surface. A power sander speeds up the coarse pass, but switches to hand sanding with the fine grit in corners and along edges to keep abrasion even and give stain or sealer something to grab onto.
