"Great,they came out and discovered that while I was away that the controller for the sprinklers was apparently affected by thunder and lightening, they were able to reset it and had to reprogram because it was scrambled. The gentleman checked front and back sprinklers reset and installed a battery for me ( i supplied the battery). "We recently completed construction of a new house on a large (~1.5 acre) lot in the Austin area and needed full turn-key landscaping that included drainage, irrigation and lighting in addition to planting. We searched several websites for proven highly rated landscapers and had the most promising ones come out to give us their recommendations and bid on the job. Debbie with Sagebrush Landscaping has great reviews on Angie’s List as well as several of our surrounding NextDoor neighborhoods and we knew from her very first visit that this was going to be an easy decision. We gave her a list of objectives and constraints that included what we thought would be most appropriate for each area including multiple textures with a mixture of hardy drought-tolerant native shrubs and flowering plants, sodded grass and stone. Most critical of all, we needed a solution that would be very effective with respect to drainage (we’re located at the top of a big hill with huge runoff issues) and also water usage (our only source of water is a 31K gallon rainwater collection tank). Debbie’s initial design/proposal came in right on the mark requiring just a few minor tweaks and she recommended we consider drip irrigation since it is so much more efficient with respect to water usage than an above ground sprinkler system. Since we had no experience with drip, Debbie put us in touch with her irrigation subcontractor, Bill Knight, owner of Pentecost Sprinkler Systems ([*** Link removed ***] and Bill brought in one of his suppliers, Jeff Walls with Texas Irrigation Supply ([*** Link removed ***] Jeff had previously worked for Rain Bird for several years and has tremendous knowledge and experience with the latest drip technology and products as well as proper installation procedures. To make a very educational and pleasant experience short, after seeing all the compelling advantages, we decided to go with drip irrigation for everything including all the sodded areas as well. Bill and Jeff worked hand-in-hand every step of the way to ensure we got the absolute best components for the job (e.g., revolutionary state-of-the-art Rain Bird XFS dripline tubing with copper emitters on 18” centers that you can read about here: [*** Link removed ***] and the absolute highest quality installation (e.g., comprehensive mesh dripline network precisely laid on 18” centers). Before covering the dripline in several inches of loam, they conducted a very thorough system test of all components and visually inspected the output of every dripline emitter to ensure uniformity. This was then followed by the most critical test of all, which was to calibrate total water usage during a thoroughly soaking watering cycle on all circuits. Needless to say, we were thrilled to see usage come in far below expectations by several factors, thereby putting to rest any concerns we had about the ability of our water tank to handle what will likely be our highest demanding load. In summary, as I hope you can tell from my comments, we couldn’t be happier with the results as well as the incredible value that we feel we received for this entire job. All of Debbie’s and Bill’s crews were outstanding with respect to their professionalism and the quality of their work and they were immediately responsive to any questions/issues we raised along the way. Many neighbors and strangers have stopped by to compliment us and we don’t hesitate to give credit where credit is due, which is directly to Sagebrush, Pentecost and Texas Irrigation Supply!"
