"my toilet had been leaking water below the base for months. (it was a very slow leak that happened when you flush). we replaced the wax ring 2x but that did not solve the problem. a friend referred his plumber (wakamatsu plumbing in gardena) who looked at it and told me the flange shouldn't be and quot;floatingand quot; and i needed to secure it possibly by pouring cement around the pipe below the flange to keep it from moving. i asked him if he could do it and he hesitated but then said maybe next week...never heard from him again not to mention my initial call to him was never returned either. <br /> then i joined angie's list and spent a few hours reading reviews and found stephen. wasn't sure he would do the job after what happened with wakamatsu. stephen came over to look at it and said he had done a job like mine before but it wasn't fun (our house is on a cement slab). over the course of 3 visits, he cut off the old flange, installed a new one that was level to the floor, poured cement around the pipe, drilled holes and bolted down the flange. he got a new wax ring and put the old toilet back. <br /> next day, toilet was still leaking. he said that's impossible. he came to look at it and thought it was water coming from the shower area. a few days later, still leaking. he said we probably need a new toilet. we went out and purchased a TOTO brand toilet which he recommended highly and we LOVE it! no more leak!!! the $200 toilet was a separate cost that we paid and was not included in the cost of service since we bought it ourselves. <br /> stephen came back a 5th time to install the new toilet and didn't charge us for the visit. the only cost was $10 for another new wax ring! stephen is an AWESOME plumber and a really nice guy.
