"Jordan and his team do great work.  I had to be persistent in getting his estimate as I think he was really busy.  He also doesn't do a written estimate like the other two Angie's List recommended companies.   However, he stuck to his verbal/handshake pricing regardless of whatever problems he may have encountered.  We had some communication problems when we had to be out-of-town on a weekend in which his team was on-site working.  Because our property is on a hill, I had wanted the fencing tiered so that the redwood horizontal fencing would be level with the patio.  When we arrived home on Monday, we found that he hadn't done that on the critical rear portion of the fence.  When I said that we didn't like the downward slant of the fence, he agreed to redo it.  This added an extra day to the job - but he wanted to make sure we were happy with how the fence looked.   When he and his team completed the deck, I asked about putting a wood lattice around the bottom of the deck to keep animals out.  He said he would take care of it.  When I mentioned that the last step down on the deck was twice the length of the previous 3 steps, he came back and added another step to match the other three.   We had previously hired someone to do a deck and fence design, so we had some original drawings that we were able to show him.  This helped immensely.   If you're doing anything complicated, be sure to have your ideas well-thought out so you can be certain of getting what you need.   I would hire Jordan and his crew again.  His pricing was quite a bit less than the other two Angie's List Fencing companies for the exact same project and he takes pride in his work.   "

"Live Oak works fast and provided great craftsmanship while building a 600 sqft backyard deck with professionalism! They also were agreeable and provided a couple of small extra maintenance services which we didn’t spec out prior to the work being done (touch-up house paint and installation of two foundation vent screens, all under the deck). They did a super job building a very solid structure with great craftsmanship! They provided detailed plans and a bill of materials prior to starting the project. They (Enrique) were great communicators were very thoughtful as to where and when the building materials would be dropped. They also left the yard clean after each days work! They poured foundation posts, built a very solid framing structure with steps in two locations, and laid the finishing planks down with percussion while offsetting connecting seams so they don’t catch the eye. The deck was raised and the finished deck sits perfectly flush with our exterior doors leading out to the deck. The deck also required two doors from the deck surface to access under-deck electrical and drainage items. Those were also built perfectly and unnoticeable unless you’re looking for them. Live Oak is detail oriented and I’d like to thank them for taking pride in their work! There’s nothing better than receiving compliments about our deck from visitors to our home. Thank you! Not only would I hire them again but I would STRONGLY recommend them to anyone needing their services. We feel VERY lucky to have found them!"
