"Absolutely great! Tammy scheduled the extensive demolition while we were out of town for 10 days due to our allergy concerns. She supervised experienced and trustworthy workers who did an excellent job in our home while we were gone and after we returned. The clean up from the demolition was not as bad as we had feared and we love our new porcelain and hardwood floors, quartz countertops and stainless steel sink."

"I needed carpet and vinyl flooring installed in a short period of time, which Empire Today was able to fulfill. I felt that I paid a premium for service on short notice, which I expected. The salesperson was a bit pushy and asked more than once, "do we have a deal?", which felt smarmy. On the day of installation, all went as planned until the vinyl installation was complete. The quarter round was not replaced. When I asked about it, the installer said that "it looks fine without it," which I disagreed with. He offered to put caulk down, which helped, but still did not look like a complete project. I did not like how he dismissed my request. I sent more than one email to Empire Today about this problem, but they did not follow up with me about this issue."

"Our Insurance recommended Hays & Sons as one company to contact to help us dry out & repair our basement after our sump pump failed and several inches of standing water took over our basement and soaked up a few inches into the drywall.  Immediately after we called 2 men arrived to assess the damage and help set up fans and work out a plan.  The process included a drying stage, removing the lower portion of drywall around most of the basement, replacing carpet, re-installing drywall & baseboards & painting.  We worked with several different people from Hays & Sons and all were very professional & helpful, they kept us informed of when they would arrive or finish up for the day and what was next in the process.  Hays & Sons did a great job & gave us our finished basement back.  We were very happy to have found them during such an overwhelming experience."

"They did everything they said they would and went above and beyond. They offer a year warranty on their work, show up on time, and even will come back to fix things. Josh is due to come out to fix some things the HVAC people did in a couple of days. They have a store, and they sell flooring, but I did not know that at the time I ordered carpet from Menards. They had no problem installing what I had purchased from elsewhere. I cannot recommend these guys enough! Seriously, if you need flooring installed, give them a call. I am having them come back to quote tile and hardwood flooring as well."

"Employees are very professional yet personable.  Willing to answer any question we had about installation or products being used. They were also very good about cleaning up any mess that was brought about because of construction.  Although we thought the price was a little high, I believe we got what we paid for.  We are planning to use them in the future for other home improvement projects.  <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Santa Claus, IN

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
