"We had an issue with our water conditioning system for Aquarius. They attempted to remedy the problem and determined they needed to replace the system. With the system being over 5 years old, I was uncertain what it would cost me, however, the only thing better than the equipment they provide is their customer service. No cost to replace with a better system. Now that is service!"

"Dean's removed a large nonfunctioning halogen ceiling fixture with a small simple LED fixture that I provided. More importantly, Dean's replaced my electrical breaker box and all of the breakers and added a main shut off in the box so I don't have to run downstairs to the electric meter room to completely shut off my electricity. It wasn't cheap but well worth it. They also added a separate circuit and breaker for my bidet which was tripping the breaker hallway through the cycle, leaving me fumbling in the dark looking for my flashlight. I highly recommend Dean's!"

"I had a wet basement that had been a problem in my home for years before purchase of my home. The placement of a Sump pump and floor drain tile appears to stop wet foundation walls and floor. The basement now has potential to be nice area of use and living for years ahead. The service is a expensive purchase for homeowner but it is a needed purchase for my home. The finishing job leaves the need with more work if your basement floor was rough from the years of water damage. They did stop any future water damage for my home and it is safe to spend more for more fine finishing. They completed what was contracted."

"I contacted them through Angies List. They promptly provided a quote ($444). After comparing the quote with other quotes, I decided to hire them on a Wednesday night. They came the next day (Thursday) morning. First, they tested to make sure that the sump pump wasn't working for the wrong reasons (bad socket). Once they determined that it needed a replacement, they did the work in less time than they had estimated. They also suggested things we needed to be mindful of regarding the pump. The cost came to $389, $55 less than what we expected."

"Jack has helped me with multiple plumbing projects over the last 9 years. From gas line hookups to shower repair to water heater replacement, I have always been so happy with his his work. Most recently I had a frozen water pipe during a cold snap. Even though he was on vacation, he called me back and took the time to walk me through how to solve it. As always, he was spot on and helped me get through a stressful situation with ease. Jack, I am most appreciative of the work you done over the years!"

"Everything went great. In attempting to replace the hoses connecting my washing machine I discovered that my shutoff valves did not completely shut the water off. I was able to get a plumber out first thing the next day. He showed up on time and quickly fixed my problem. Great service."

"Earlier this year, we remodeled our kitchen. In the interest of time, we had our contractor do some basic plumbing in the kitchen to make our sink operational. We didn't care about making it optimal, just functional. We figured we could hire a plumber later to finish the job. Enter Mssr. Hoagland. I immediately disliked the "this is going to take a lot of time and money" attitude. It took me about 30 minutes to convince him to take on the job. Eventually, he got down to work and he did a fantastic job on the original plumbing job. As he completed the original plumbing job, he offered to move our reverse osmosis (RO) system to the basement and construct the infrastructure necessary to do that. We agreed. The plumbing to the RO system turned out to be the easy part. In the process, somehow our filtered water faucet, which is connected to the RO system, stopped working. And the ice maker, which is also connected to the RO system, also stopped working. I cannot now recall how we left it on that day, but I had to have Mssr. Hoagland return to try to troubleshoot what had happened to the RO system and why the two things connected to it weren't working. I got a big shrug; a "I've done the best I could"; and a "you might want to try X." But there was no effort on his part to try to figure out exactly what was wrong. I let him off the hook because, after all, I had not leverage. He had already been paid. Eventually, I went to Home Depot, purchased a new RO system, and connected it. Voila! Both the ice maker and filtered water faucet worked! Summary: (i) I know plumbing is expensive. So please, just inform me of the cost and, assuming I'm OK with it, please do the job; and (ii) there did not appear to be any accountability for having shut down my RO system."

"He did the work quickly and professionally, showed up in the timeframe scheduled, and honored the price I was quoted, so I was very happy with their service. I called ahead of time for an estimate and was debating about having them do both since I had already bought a sump pump and was debating about doing the work myself and they said they'd give me a $50 discount for doing both at the same time. When they wrote up the bill, I mentioned that and he honored that discount. He also gave me an estimate for a water softener (they use the Fleck water softeners, which are high quality). "

"Fantastic. They had to come back multiple times to check the progress, and every time they were on time, courteous and professional. They also provided great tips on how to prevent future sump pump issues. They also stayed involved on the business end to ensure that my warranty company was up to speed on what was going on, and to do what was needed to ensure that my warranty paid out, which it did."

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Santiago, MN

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
