"The senior project specialist was Jimmy. He did a great job of keeping us informed at all stages of the project (interior drain tile installation). Nanod was the plumber who did the final installation of the sump pump set-up and discharge configuration. Nanod did an outstanding job on the route of the discharge piping , having assessed that the originally considered discharge configuration might have adversely affected our neighbor."

"Our well pump started running almost constantly, so after searching Angie's List, we called Schaeffer Brothers Pump and Water Conditioning to come out and look at it.  They determined that a switch needed to be replaced. Since the well pump was 23 years old, we decided to have it replaced. <br /> Schaefer's came out to replace it within a week, even though the weather was cold. We (and our neighbors) watched as the crane pulled up the old pump and it was replaced with the new one. It took about 8 hours of hard work in miserable weather, but they kept working until it was finished. There wasn't much inconvenience to us--the water had to be shut off for a few hours, and the well had to be chlorinated, so we used bottled water for a few days. We are still in the process of having the water tested for purity since it fell a little short of the recommendations the first time. <br /> While it's not very exciting to sink almost $3,000 into the ground, we were very pleased with Schaefer Bros. and the work they did. We would definitely recommend them. <br />"

"My water heater broke and it took one call in the morning to get me back up and running with a new one by 3pm. I was lucky to have the heater still under the manufacturing warranty but the charge for labor was also very reasonably not to mention the 5 start service, they even covered my floors with a tarp to avoid damaging my floor with marks! Now more than ever we need to support our local business specially those that provide a good product with an excellent service. John and Dough Thank you for your service I definitely recommend your company!"

"First trip out they told me my old faucet was not repairable (it was leaking). They told me a new faucet would be $325.00 or so. I told them I would buy my own and have them install. Plumber did a good job and was in and out in no time. Bill was $318.00 for 2hrs labor and $44.00 for materials for a total with tax $381.91 which I thought was high. I supplied the materials and $159.00 per hr. seemed high. But I was satisfied with the job."

"My 1974 well pump was starting to slow down so I wanted to preempt it failing and requiring an emergency replacement. Unfortunately, the conduit for existing pipe from the pump was falling apart where it entered the basement and it was very clear that it would fail the (now) required pressure test. This meant that the entire well had to be brought up to code with a pitless connector installed. My situation was further complicated by the fact that the well head sits under a trap-door in a relatively large deck, The trap door would have been plenty large enough for a simple pump replacement but insufficient for the usual excavation required for a code upgrade. Other plumbers that I contacted either wanted to dismantle / destroy part of the deck or abandon the existing well and dig a new one. However, S & K - who are *really good* problem solvers - were able to figure out how to do all of this work while keeping the deck intact. I have used S & K previously but, still, I was impressed by their professionalism and work ethic. The work was completed in a little less that 2 days with no loss of water supply in the intervening night. All of the work was done neatly and the work-site left clean and tidy. The price quote also included the replacement of the well pump with a "constant pressure" unit and the removal of the no longer required pressure tank from the basement. I have no hesitation in recommending S & K."

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Saukville, WI

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
