"When we bought this house we were planning to renovate the basement.  The previous owner had represented that it had never taken on water.  The first weekend we were here, however, a torrential rainstorm caused the basement to flood.  We realized we needed to waterproof it before we could do anything else, and decided that drain tiling was the safest way to go.
Greg was phenomenally responsive from the start.  He was very clear about what needed to be done and how they would do it.  He also described some optional work but was explicit that it was optional and if it didn't fit within our budget that was that, and he wasn't going to push it the slightest bit.  His quote blew away the bigger, well-known firm and was less than or on a par with some others.  He also agreed to demo the walls for a slight extra charge, which otherwise would have been a huge convenience for us.  Between then and the start of work I emailed him repeatedly with various questions and he responded almost instantly.  When his workers took down the paneling we got the unpleasant news that we had huge cracks in the walls that would need to be tuckpointed and in one area a big chunk of foundation was jutting from the wall.  That section of the foundation would need to be replaced and a support beam installed.  We were more or less at Greg's mercy at this point -- we weren't going to halt work and bring in a series of guys to quote the tuckpointing & repair -- but Greg gave us an estimate of $2,600-$3,000.  We can't know for sure, but suspect that this price was more than fair, and Greg stuck to it even though we think the work turned out to be more than they expected.
The project manager, Jim, was fantastic to work with throughout, very communicative and accomodating, and the crew of five guys or so was extremely friendly and professional.  All in all, A Perfect Crawlspace was a pleasure to work with and we could not be happier with the results.

"We chose Chicago Crawlspace because Andy was punctual, professional, well versed and provided us with a detailed quote of the services being provided. We apppreciated that the pricing given to us was broken down and each specific task was assigned a cost - as opposed to a company just giving a lump sum quote. We even knew the brand and cost of the sump pump being installed.

The crew was on time and finished on schedule. All existing debris in the crawlspace was bagged and removed from the crawlspace by the crew before they began laying the liner. One challenge we had involved our water softening system which is located in our crawlspace. Andy was very willing to work with us and did not require us to have the equipment removed before doing the work. He provided a plumber to disconnect and then reconnect the system. The softener and the salt holding tank are located beneath the opening to the crawlspace to allow for easy access. Pouring the concrete floor would result in losing a few inches of height clearance and make refilling the salt tank very inconvenient if we moved it farther away from the opening. We discussed it with Andy and he said that he would have his men dig down a few inches - at no additional charge - under the tank so that we would still be able to refill the tank fairly easily and keep it near the opening.

Overall we are very saisfied with Chicago Crawlspace and the job they did. We would definitely use them again and have no problem recommending them to others."

"I first called and left a message with their office. It was a late Sunday evening. I received a call by noon on Monday and they were very responsive. We scheduled a time for the sales person to come to our house and to give us an estimate. He advised on several things and listened to exactly what we wanted. He then explained the full process and all of the steps. One thing we didn't plan for was that the new concrete needed to cure for two weeks after it was poured and it was great that he made us aware of that. They demolition crew showed up first and removed our old garage. They were very cognizant of our neighbor's property too which I was very grateful. After that, it was smooth sailing. Every person showed up when they said they would (except for during a period when we had inclement weather and they just couldn't come out). But, the follow up was quick and seamless. I would highly recommend them and would use them again if I ever needed another new garage.
