"Blain Construction did a superb job on my kitchen remodel. They really went above and beyond my expectations! For example, I was not expecting for them to redo my plumbing. I didn't realize it was in such bad shape. Now everything looks and works fabulously!"

"Thanks to Mike, Josh, Russell and Jay. On time, install went without a hitch. The guys were very professional, knowledgeable with great communication skills. Attention to detail and answered questions along the way as well as offering specific details on maintaining the unit and what to watch for. I was particularly amazed at their work ethic and clean up when the job was completed. Savino Plumbing has gained a customer for life. Would recommend to Savino for any of your plumbing needs.."

"After seeing the outstanding Angie's List reviews for St. Simons Plumbing I decided to have them install a new toilet in my master bath.  The job turned out to be a bit more challenging than originally thought because the flange on the floor was broken and had to be replaced.  Even though this caused the job to take longer than forecast, the installer didn't charge for the extra time, only for the replacement flange ($10).  The installation was done perfectly--the new toilet is perfectly level and rock steady.  The glowing reviews of St. Simons Plumbing are well deserved, and I highly recommend this plumbing company. <br />"

"Juadon was a great addition to our remodel team. His professional and kind attitude made the plumbing portion of our project go quickly and smooth. He explained what he needed to do and was honest on how long each piece would take. When my young daughter dropped a handful of figurines down a drain pipe, he didn’t hesitate to attempt the rescue! He was incredibly neat and made sure to clean up any and all tools, debri, and water left from the projects. We plan to hire again when we tackle the next project!"

"He did an excellent job. He was patient and answered all of my ridiculous questions thoroughly from the beginning. He understood exactly what I wanted and he provided the service that we agreed upon. I addition, he was very professional, punctual and always responded quickly. You can certainly see the high quality of his work in the completed project. Thank you Charlie and crew!"

"Very well....pun intended. FYI I rated price as a "B" but honestly, I think it could have been much worse. They spent some time troubleshooting and avoided pulling the well pump up...in my opinion a sign of true professionals. They could have made a **** of a lot more money off of me if they wanted. Additionally, Billy, the owner showed up part way through the job even though their office is a good 30 minutes away. Ended up the leak was a failed pvc joint out in the yard. They found it without digging using a very large "cake tester". A small, hand-dug hole, some new couplings and a bit of glue and we're back up and running. They also pumped up the well-tank bladder, swapped out some tired parts and installed an additional check valve while they were here. I heartily recommend them for well servicing."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Sea-island, GA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
