"Had an appointment to get our well pump checked on Thursday. It died the Saturday before the appointment. They came our on Saturday afternoon and had it fixed before dark. Amazing dedication to customer service and never once complained. Just got the job done to restore our water. Thank you Amos Pump Service! I could not recommend them more. I'll never call anyone else."

"Our 50 year old toilet leaked around the base. The first technician replaced the beeswax seal but the toilet wobbled after he left. The same technician was sent back, but a few days later the toilet wobbled again. Rooter Express sent a different technician the same day we called. He redid the entire project and a week later the toilet is steady and firm. There were no charges except the original charge. We are now quite satisfied. "

"We purchased a foreclosed house with a well that operated but an aerator cut out of the system and a water softener placed on bypass. The crew came out and looked at the parts we had. It was decided we should replaced the water softener and buy a new pump for the aerator and that the old aerator could be used. They came back the next day with all the parts needed. Everything was organized and placed into a smaller area of the concrete pad. They even thought to raise parts up on blocks to extend life of pieces and allow us to pour concrete in the future without needing to move anything. They found our well to be extremely slow but stayed to get everything running for us. We will call them when we decide we need a new well. <br />"

"I received a quote from Ramjack and then Engineered solutions. Engineered solutions quoted a need for 3 piers instead of 4 per Ramjack quote. I decided to use engineered solutions because they looked at the level of my floors inside my house and the piers were to be installed on the outside of the house and not the inside of my basement (per Ramjack). We were scheduled for 8/8/2019 but the gas lines were not marked yet so the date was reset for 8/12. Unfortunately the truck needed work and they arrived at 1100 a.m. They dug the 3 holes and placed one pier until the desired pressure and left at 4pm and planned to come back the following day. They arrived back on 8/13 at 0940 and finished the job that day. The men who installed the piers were professional, explained the process, did not mind my intermittent observations of the work and answered all of my questions. They then left the job site as clean as someone could after using a tractor and covered the site with the dirt. They did this in 93-95 degree heat too. My completed job was $2,212 more than expected because my piers went beyond 21 ft, which is what is quoted. My job required an extra 79 ft. of piers to ensure proper depth/pressure for stabilization. Engineered solutions charges $28.00 per foot beyond 21ft and Ramjack is $32.00 beyond 25ft. The extra costs is mentioned in contracts, so READ your contracts. If I compared total cost with extra feet on 3 piers with Ramjack vs Engineered solutions, engineered solutions was $400 cheaper. I would use Engineered solutions again and would recommend them."

"The report was very professional and detailed. The response was fast. The price was expensive but due to the detail, understandable. I wouldn't hire again due to multiple requests for a completed report and estimate for the mold remediation and just getting robotic replies that didn't answer my questions."

"instead of charging for costly repairs, the tech showed us a small crack in our showerhead which was spraying against the sheetrock and creating mold. Although embarrassed that my husband and I didn't detect the leak to begin with, we appreciated his honesty with such a simple fix. Thank you Steve!"

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Sea-island, GA

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
