"Very happy with how thorough a job was done. We rented a house that the prior tenant had had cleaned by some cheapo outfit. He worked out of a minivan with what was one grade better than a rental machine, and half-a@@ed the job. Smith Bros came in and did a far superior job. They came before we moved in, so about a week after the other joker. Carpets that the rental agent said were “as is” due to stains, were cleaned to as near new as possible. It was my own dime, and it cost a lot of them. For 3 beds, big hallway, stairs, a small living room, and a 25x25 bonus room it was $500. A bit steep, but did twice as good as the other clown. And with 2 visiting grandkids on the floor, worth it."

"Andy's installed a natural, wool berber carpet with hypo-allergenic pad and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. The product is much better quality than my old synthetic carpet and I now wake up with no congestion and coughing. They used a low VOC glue so there were no strong odors after installation. I had several quotes for this product and the pricing was pretty much the same as the other vendors. There were minor differences in cost of materials and labor, which is why I rated the pricing as "fair". I went with Andy's because they were familiar with the product I wanted. With wool, you want to get someone that is knowledgeable about the material. There were a couple snags with the vendor and sub-contractor, but George at Andy's made sure I was taken care of and the carpet was expertly installed."

"Dan did a great job. He kept a clean work site, and did a great installation job. We had some hold ups acquiring the flooring from the manufacturer and Dan kept us abreast of his schedule, when he could fit us in etc. The floors look great. He was very knowledgeable about install, care etc. Another contractor showed up to do an unrelated job and he mentioned how Dan was really great at restoration as well. The job was done on time, and in the budget he gave us. He also credited us for some work we did tearing out carpet before he got here. I will have him back to do some care on older wood floors at a later date."

"Excellent no pressure sales. Gave me multiple options for redoing the flooring in my condo. They were able to work with my schedule since I in the process of moving and currently live out of town. The installation was professional and they left the condo looking like new. Will hire them again to do additional wood flooring in the future."

"I met with Todd the week before closing on a house that I was purchasing to get measurements of the detached 3 car garage to provide a quote as I wanted to have it insulated as soon as possible after my closding date. He took measurements, asked questions about what I wanted for electrical. He provided me a quote within a couple of day and we had an agreement to move forward. To my surprise, he scheduled the job to start the Monday following the Friday that I closed on the house. I really didn't think that was going to be possible giving the timing, but he made it happen. <br /> The following Monday, the site manager and sub arrived on time and went right to work. The site manager and sub knew everything that I had talked to Todd about, which means that he communicates well with his staff. The site manager reviewed what they were going to be doing and I let the sub into the shop. That evening when the sub was ready to leave, he asked if he could arrive at 7am the following day. The next morning my doorbell rang and exactly 7am. All of the subs were very prompt, with the exception of the garage door opener installer, which Todd has addressed. <br /> The project took a couple of days longer than expected, but was done just in time for the movers to arrive. I am very happy with the quality of the work that was done and will definitely have Todd and his crew work on the remodeling projects I have forthcoming. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Sedro Woolley, WA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
