"They are separating now where the seams come together.  There are strings coming out of the carpet.  After a while, we called them and told them what it was doing, but they never retuned my phone call.  I could have called them back. I did talk to a guy there and he said that they could replace the carpet but we would have to pay for the labor.  I didn’t think it was worth it, so I didn’t.  The carpet is 5 years old; it's not that old.  Their price was pretty good; it wasn’t bad.  They responsiveness was pretty good.  Everyone came when they came, but I don’t know if they were late getting there or not.  The people that put the carpeting in didn’t do such a good job; it should have lasted longer than it did.  They were young kids putting it down and they did it so fast that they didn’t get it sealed right.  I have had carpets put down before and you never saw the seams.  I have had carpets that have been there for 20 years with no problems.  If I had to do my carpet again, I would check around in other places."

"Work was done to perfection, on time and under budget. The selection of materials seemed endless. There was something for every price range all with professionals to do the install. You will be glad you did business with these folks. I have had a shower tiled, carpet installed, laminate flooring installed and hardwood floors installed. I will never go anywhere else."

"I had these folks install luxury vinyl tiles in my kitchen and dining room. They came out for free and took the measurements of my floors. Then they walked me through various brands and colors; they loaned me full size tiles to take home, so I could see what they would look like on site. When I finally picked a color, they were able to schedule the installation so they could get it done before my new dishwasher arrived. They had to rip up some portions of the old vinyl flooring under the dishwasher where it had warped, but when they were done, you couldn't even tell. They not only put the tiles in beautifully; they repaired some old baseboards that another flooring person had messed up. They also sealed around all the baseboards so no dirt could get under or behind them. Thoughtful little touches like these make their installers top notch and worth every cent! I highly recommend them! <br />"

"I would highly recommend this business to everyone. From the initial home visit to the final visit, they were very professional. They came to the house with many different samples of all the materials needed. Once we made our choices, they arranged everything that was needed. They only used top notch contractors and finished the job early. They stayed on top of everything by doing many drop in visits to check on the progress. They even arranged to have movers come in on the first and final day to move all the furniture upstairs and replace it when completed. Once the work was completed, they showed with different types of artwork for the walls and were able to assist me with ordering the art. Not only would we highly recommend them, we are planning on using them next year to redo the bedrooms. <br />"

"They were fantastic.  I have used this company prior.  I was looking for a good carpet cleaning company, and couldn't remember the company's name.  I looked on the internet, and picked these folks, and when I was on the phone making the appt, Steve remembered me, making me feel like he cares for all his clients.  We made the appt, and the only negative thing I have to say, is that the tech was about 1 hr late.  The pervious job took longer than estimated.  When I called Steve, he was very upset, that the tech hadn't contacted me.  However, once the gentleman got here, he was very professional, very attentive, and did an outstanding job. <br />"

"He is good looking, he is very friendly, punctual, cleaned up after himself, his price was reasonable, he came on a spur of the moment when I fired my first contractor and he did the job just none stop, completed the job in 10 days. My first contractors put me off, after taking $10,000 from me, he put me off over 2 months and hasn't done a thing and on the first day of the job he told me, and ldquo;I want another $6000 and I said no."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Yakima, WA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
