From our initial consultation and beyond, every contact was courteous and knowledgeable. On the first day of the project, after removing the dirt to see the foundation, it was discovered that the existing foundation was not sufficient to support using the helical piers according to the building inspector. The dirt was all replaced and it was arranged to come back out and give me a quote for a different process using smart jacks. Due to circumstances at my local building department, the new job had to be postponed until a new permit could be obtained. Once that was done I was rescheduled and the job was completed in a day and a half. When the building inspector came to sign off on the permit, he raved at what a great job they had done. "While such work is not cheap, Terra Firma stayed with us throughout, including during some delays based on obtaining permits here in Oregon, so that wasn't their fault. The work was outstanding, with a three-person crew putting in three very busy days in cold and wet weather to drive 17 reinforcing titanium piers around roughly half the perimeter of the foundation, with most of them extending clear down to bedrock. They also managed to raise both sliding corners of the house, from slopes of about 1.5" (4 cm) on either corner, back to their original level, which amazed us (we were hoping to have just stabilization, with the possibility of raising the foundation just partway). The house sits on a very steep slope leading down to a creek, and years of slow but noticeable "sliding down the hill" are now not only corrected, but the whole foundation is now as level as when it was constructed 25 years ago. Perhaps needless to say, we're thrilled with the results.
