"This was definitely a 5 star operation from the initial discussions to the finishing touches! For a major renovation and upgrade to our master bathroom we reviewed potential contractors and their customer comments. VKB stood out. Our VKB designer Sean clearly has artistic talent and lots of design experience. He patiently worked with us, showing us 3D design options as we considered alternative configurations and materials. When we were satisfied with the design, Sean transitioned us smoothly to the build phase, introducing Jason as our project manager and Walter as our crew chief. Sean personally familiarized Jason with the project, inviting us to share our thoughts and any concerns. During the renovation, Walter and his crew would carefully isolate the MBR work from the rest of the house, sealing off the room and path to the front door with plastic barriers and floor coverings every morning and remove them every evening. Everyone was polite and sensitive to our living space. Jason was responsive to our wishes to refine several design aspects as the work proceeded, and Walter and his crew smoothly made the alterations. After the main construction was completed Jason remained very attentive to our ‘punch list’ of remaining details and our questions until all had been resolved. Walter ensured very high-quality work down to the finest detail. All the work from design to completion was well within the timeframe we had hoped. In the end, we have a beautiful MBR well beyond our original expectations!"

"Last week Dimitri and his crew finished remodeling 2 of my bathrooms. I am thrilled with the results! They gutted both bathrooms down to the studs and properly rebuilt the walls with cement backer board in the showers and on the floors. These gentlemen are true artists. They painstakingly cut my 12”x24” tiles so that my niche was centered. They took their time to make sure my mosaic accent tile was smooth and even. Since the walls in my old house aren’t square, Dimitri worked his magic to make my vanities fit against the walls. In my Master bathroom, 3 walls were removed in order to enlarge my shower and overall bathroom space. They moved plumbing, set up new electrical sockets and lights, installed a new exhaust fan which vents to the outside and removed a wall in order to put in a smooth gliding pocket door. The installation of a glass frameless shower door and a glass door above the tub was perfect; the doors float along the tracks as smooth as silk. This is a family owned business. Dimitri, his two sons and another crew member came to work on time every day. Even though they worked long hours, it was apparent that they loved their job. I certainly reaped the benefits of their expertise. I highly recommend this company for any remodeling job. I will definitely call them back to remodel my third bathroom and put a composite material like Trex on my deck."

"Installed 4 ceiling fans and 1 chandelier. Excellent service, done in a timely manner. Arrived punctually and began work promptly. Used drop cloths to catch debris and cleaned up nicely. Friendly, polite and respectful. Price was as quoted and very reasonable for the service provide. Very flexible and even installed 1 additional ceiling fan for an additional fee. Worked thru a couple of challenges with bad parts supplied by the manufacturer with no problems, to get the job done. Good quality work, professionally done. Highly recommended."

"We hired Misha and his team to remodel our 1975 ranch house, which needed a lot of care and attention. This is one of the best decisions we have made! After bad experiences with other reno projects in the past, we were very worried about taking on another project. Misha put us to ease after our first meeting, and our respect for him grew every day. Misha’s team showed up every weekday and even on weekends until the project was done. My neighbor, who is a real estate agent, told us she had never seen such a professional and reliable crew. "Our new kitchen is beautiful, functional, and better than we could have imagined. AES transformed our cramped, galley-style kitchen into a show piece. Overall, the process was fairly smooth from design through execution. We enjoyed working with their interior designer/concierge person, Shawna—picking materials and products was a breeze, and we had the benefit of AES's direct relationship with some quality vendors. Furthermore, they produced good-quality architectural 3-D renderings which were very helpful for the design process. One nice anecdote: At the beginning, I let AES know that I wanted to do painting (to save a bit of money, and to do it to my liking). The kitchen crew still did fantastic wall prep—perfectly primed and smooth. The kitchen crew also carefully removed the old cabinetry intact and in good condition, allowing me to donate it eventually. I have one word of warning for customers undertaking any similar remodel: avoid Best Buy if you can! AES typically brings their clients to Best Buy for picking out appliances. While we were super happy with the products we bought, dealing with Best Buy was a nightmare. One appliance arrived damaged and Best Buy gave both us AND our AES rep the run-around trying to get it replaced. Thankfully, AES had our back and it was finally sorted and the appliance re-installed by the wonderful kitchen crew. The kitchen was finished sooner than expected too, with no loss to attention to detail."

"A&N have been wonderful! They did a great job on the bathroom remodel I needed done on a typical cramped 1950s style bathroom to make room for my mother with her walker. They were able to create so much more space and put in a beautiful walk in shower that works perfectly!"

He kept us informed about the status of the project and was available whenever we had questions. Most importantly he was honest and upfront about any change orders to make sure we were comfortable with them before accepting them. Franklin and his crew who did the day to day work were great guys and really worked hard to make sure we had a quality project. We moved into a 10 year old, newly purchased home in Southern Maryland in the Summer of 2015. Like many new homeowners, we discovered a few pre-existing problems, and we also began thinking about some cosmetic changes we'd like to make.



We interviewed and received proposals from four local contractors, among them John Krause Construction. We were impressed by Mr. Krause's technical proposal, his suggestions about what we should do to get the biggest bang for our buck, his sincerity, his timeliness, and his guarantee of quality workmanship. However, Mr. Krause's original proposal was not the cheapest of the estimates that we had received, and we expressed our reservations in that regard. Mr. Krause asked for an opportunity to reevaluate his estimate, and a week later he presented us with a revised proposal that we felt was very fair ($31,500).



Our association with Krause Construction for this project lasted for several months. The initial visits, proposals and contract signing occurred in late December 2015. Krause then purchased the materials for our job, and it took a couple of months to receive some of the main items because of the lead times for the special-order doors/windows that we desired, but this was fully understood and expected. When the materials were received, Krause was quick to assign a core team to begin work on our project in March 2016, and this core team was dedicated solely to our project for its entire duration. The work proceeded without interruption and was completely finished within a couple of weeks. It could possibly have been completed faster by a less conscientious team, but our project included a custom wall that involved significant on site design and artisanship, and the meticulous quality of the work exceeded not only our expectations, but even our hopes!



All of the Krause Construction employees that we had contact with were very professional. The office administrators were efficient, friendly, and good about notifying us of any impromptu changes to the time that workers would arrive, etc. The core team (led by James) that worked on our project was hard working, skilled, and dedicated to customer satisfaction. They communicated exceptionally well, seeking out and being very receptive to customer ideas, inputs and ad hoc extra tasks. It is evident that John Krause really cares about his customers, and also cares for and takes great pride in the people who work for him. When I commented that the core team who worked on our project was really something special, he took pleasure in replying that he has four more teams that are just as good.



I highly recommend Krause construction and, in fact, I have already signed a second contract with them to renovate my driveway, walkway, front stoop and landscaping.

"D&H Demolition quickly demoed the carpet from my living, dining , and steps to the second floor. Replaced with re- claimed hardwood flooring which resulted in a significant cost savings for me. Replaced the flooring and steps with a satin finish that so beautiful that I keep getting comments. Work was timely completed and professionally done. I would definitely use their services again.
