"Jim at K&Y was great in showing me the options and pricing out the job. I had snowbirds coming so the project needed to be completed on time. The demo guys showed up right on schedule and did a great job in removing old flooring, but more importantly, they ground down the concrete so the floor we level. The installation of porcelein tile took about 3 days, and was professionally done. The only reason that I did not give "straight A's" was because I didn't get other quotes, so I don't know if the price was reasonable. I trusted Jim and the Angie's List ratings. As far as professionalism, the installation was professional and the installer was a hard worker."

"I hired one of their installers, Exact Tile. Ricky Baden was the foreman and he was on top of things from ordering, to being onsite the first day of work and throughout the project. I had half my house tiled and a master bath, including the floor, tub surround and shower. They did a beautiful job and left no mess at all. AND they were done in 3 days with over 700 feet of flooring. I worked with Buffkin to pick out and order my tile - that was onsite in a day. I was extremely happy all around! I quickly found I had no issue leaving them at my house alone for most of the job. Check out the video of the finished floor. [*** Link removed ***]"

"They did a great job. Jose communicated well with me. He discussed all of the cost up front so I completely understood the cost of materials and labor. He was on target with his scheduling. They did a great job of installing the wood laminate throughout the house. I would highly recommend Floors Direct for any flooring needs."

"Durham & Sons put in my last HVAC system over 12 ears ago and I've had a service contract with them. Recently a $2000 part went and I verified that replacing it was not a good investment given the system's age. They took the time to explain options in detail. As luck would have it, the pandemic and factory issues made finding the desired replacement units a real challenge. But these guys really stepped up to the challenge. Besides temporarily installing 4 window units to hold us over, they were creative and persistent and found what was needed. Their crew did impeccable work taking out the old system and replacing it, really going above & beyond. This is a family owned company with high standards and they can be trusted to steer you right and be 100% professional."

"Started with the store being open on the weekend and with convenient hours. When we entered the store we were greeted by Rae Wood who was helpful, knowledgable and allowed us to consider several options without pressure. He ensured the entire process went smoothly and communicated with us regularly. The installation crew was friendly and professional. The floor was put down expertly and best of all, there were no nicks on the existing woodwork and little to no clean up at the end. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Sharpes, FL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
