"We were very happy to the outcome of our kitchen remodeling project done by Carlstrom Construction. We picked them based on their excellent Angie's list rating. Work involved cabinet refacing, granite countertops, sink installation, appliance installation, tile work, floor work, as well as electrical plumbing works. Throughout this remodeling process, I was communicating with Colton by e-mail, which is my preferred method to do. He replied to my mail question quickly. Colton and Sean are nice pair since it was Colton who we had originally worked with in the planning and bid whereas it was Sean who was doing the daily work. Sean did a beautiful tiling and cabinet refacing. They started the project exactly on the date they said they would and they finished on schedule. Overall, we are very happy for their excellent work. "The experience went well until it came time to say whether or not I was going to commit to buying a heat pump. The estimate was hand written on no particular form (sloppy). When asked if it was a good price and if I was going to buy a unit, I said not at this time. When I said that, the guys mood changed. He basically packed up, said thank you, and left. "This job was to renovate my home in preparation to sell it in early March. It consisted of a kitchen and 3 bathroom upgrade, flooring and lighting fixture replacement, painting and removal of 3 popcorn ceilings. Beginning the second week of January, the entire job was completed within 6 weeks. When first hired, the principal of Palm Construction carefully tuned in to my specific needs and targeted timeframe, offering succinct suggestions respects colors, style and quality of products used. Specialists in each trade worked cohesively with each other, as well as alongside other contractors that I had personally hired separately for windows and pool replaster. Although I had intended to live in the property during the renovation, I quickly realized that my occupancy was impeding progress, so I made the decision to vacate the premises. This was especially important during the removal of popcorn ceilings which contained asbestos. The work moved seamlessly from the removal of kitchen counters, sink, cabinet doors, appliances and flooring to the demolition of 3 bathrooms. Timely mutual decisions were made about fixtures, mirrors, flooring, sinks, vanities, paint and hardware, allowing the job to progress steadily to reach very precise goals. Along the way, it was determined that the air ducts needed replacing and AC would be a welcome addition to the total job. These issues were discussed and explained clearly and quoted at a reasonable cost - so I decided to add the change orders. Although I had never been involved with a home renovation in the past, I was very impressed with the patience and care taken to communicate with me throughout the entire job. I was a demanding customer with an expectation of perfectionism and Palm Construction was up for the challenge. Beyond the scope of the original job, Palm went above and beyond with finishing touches and little extras here and there. They've come back to help me even after completion of the job, when I needed some additional retrofits for my appliance installation, which was not even part of the original job. I know that I can count on Palm Construction to be responsive and willing for anything that may come up in the future. I learned that they are a GC that you can totally trust and rely on. In summary, I am in awe of the completed work. My friends and neighbors are astonished with the transformation of my home. The end product is flawless and most impressive. My realtor has already offered Palm Construction opportunities for other jobs. My neighbors have asked for their contact information to get quotes. I highly recommend Palm Construction for your renovation work, whether it is a large or small job. During the 6 weeks of this job, I got to know the principal, Guy Yaakov, and his team. Despite the complexities of the job and the incidental issues that came up, the personal follow-through and attention paid to all questions and requests were taken care of expeditiously and professionally. "Harry and Fred were on time, measured the kitchen, and explained the process of designing new cabinets and the possible layout of for a kitchen remodel.  They asked how we used the kitchen and created drawings to show how the appliances would fit better with a better layout.  They discussed finishings for the cabinets and gave us the opportunity to come and see the company booth at the Tacoma Home show which was very good for visual reference.
Overall a good experience.  Harry was good at following up and will be on our list when we decide to take the next step.
