"Jeff came out and did a fabulous job of cleaning our carpets. We have pets and kids with a 10 year old carpet (middle to the road quality wise) and he was able to make it look fresh again. Next time we need our carpet cleaned, we will certainly call Jeff/Carpet Care NW again. <br />"

"Very hard to initially schedule a time or receive call backs but once the time was set up, everything went very well. They had limited product selection but we were able to do all windows but one and the coverings came in much ahead of schedule and installation was very quick and well done. Installation and cordless shades were no upcharge which kept the price down quite a bit."

"Abbey Carpet was able and willing to find a sheet vinyl suitable for my specific needs when other suppliers, including online suppliers, were not. It was not a big job (40 sq ft) for a lot of money, but they worked with me to get what I wanted in the end. The installer was very skilled and professional. They are one of the best vendors I've used in my full-house remodel."

"The team was very professional, new their products inside and out and we couldn't be happier with the end result. They also went above and behind by moving their install date up two weeks in order to complete the project before we moved in, on the Friday before 4th of July. Which was key when you have two young children. I am writing this review 1yr after install and the carpet still looks amazing and we have had no issues with the installation."

"Naomi in flooring did a great job helping us select our carpet and hardwood flooring.  She set up delivery of the product and arranged for an independent installer to perform the work.  The work was complete in a timely manner with the utmost professionalism and care for our home.  Dave from the installation office followed up with a phone call to ensure we were satisfied with the job and offered to make it right if we weren't.  We are considering installing hardwood in our kitchen and dining room area and will definitely go back to this Lowe's store."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Shelton, WA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
