"Not only did Palmer's Plumbing promptly come out and repair the pipe, but Jason followed up with a visit to discuss ways we could avoid having a problem in the future. Everyone we dealt with was pleasant, professional and efficient. We have a reliable plumber for future projects."

"The C ratings are explained herein. The installation was well done with the exception of the mounting of the bracket that holds the filter assembly to the wall. Improper anchors were used for a concrete basement wall. These failed over the first year or so due to the pressure that must be exerted in removed the filter housing. The company returned upon request and corrected this issue. The only other issue was that the installer upon completing the work just picked up and left without providing any explanation. After being contacted, a company representative returned and gave an explanation of operation of the system and an apology."

"I received my radon results in a timely manner. I did not hire them specifically, (so, I cannot say I would hire them again) the local company contracted them for this service. The home inspector I hired, handled this service for me and included the results in his report."

"I had them out for the first time and they were really good.  They were somebody that I would recommend.  They fixed the problem within thirty minutes and they were great.  I haven’t got the bill as yet for the services provided.  They are quick and polite.  They are definitely knowledgeable as well.  I will use their services again in the future."

"I had a 50-year-old house with a cinderblock basement wall that had water slowly coming through. I researched the various firms that did waterproofing and had three highly rated firms come out for an estimate. The first contractor didn’t even bring a flashlight and just looked around and said to keep an eye on it. The second gentlemen did provide detailed estimate and carefully explained the problem. Randy, the owner, from Chamberlin Washington provided a similar diagnosis and estimate. His estimate was not only a little less expensive but he looked at the entire house and found other things that could use some maintenance. This is what I liked about Randy – he looked at the whole house and discovered several smaller things that should be fixed to avoid issues down the road. These were all things I knew about already but I’m glad someone took the time to examine the entire house and not just the one issue I was having. We had then not only waterproof the outside wall but also fill the expansion joints in our patio and seal one basement window as well as re-point some mortar joints in the brink chimney. When the crew came they went to work. They also did an admirable job protecting our plants. An old section of of a 6' high stockade fence had to be removed and I bough a new section and the crew was happy to put that up. When they water tested the wall they found a small leak. They re-did the sealant and that did the trick. Randy came out and supervised critical parts of the job. He was great to work with and happily fixed a few small things at the end. Randy really cares about doing the job right. I am 100% pleased with the work they did. I watched over much of the repair and everything was done correct and by the book. Overall I can't say enough about how pleased I was with Chamberlin-Washington and their work. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone."

"For anything general I use Level. Well basically two years ago I had them put in a new system for me at my home. I've maintained a service maintenance contract with them. That particular instance was covered under the contract. So, I think I pay like $200 a year or something like that, but they just basically come out and do maintenance on your system. I would use them again, absolutely they're good."

"We found Mike Cramer, CEO/owner of Three Rivers Builders, through Angie's List and again--as with our other picks from the List, scored a homerun. <br /> Contractors previously interviewed for the job (none from Angie's List) tried to dissuade us from cedar siding for the house because (a) they didn't do cedar siding; and/or (b) they specialized in vinyl siding and they were determined to sell us on an idea which was totally inconsistent with our stated preferences. <br /> Enter Mike Cramer of Three Rivers, whose appraisal and estimate were detailed, clear, honest, and fair.  He spent a great deal of time outlining for us the numerous options along with their advantages and disadvantages, he gave us a start date and an approximate schedule (weather permitting--lots of outside work to be done) and once hired, he honored his commitments to the timetable and quality which he'd promised.  Mike uses highly specialized and skilled subcontractors for each facet of the job and throughout the process, Mike was in evidence just about every day, keeping in close touch with the work crews as well as with us. <br /> Mike sets a very high standard for his designs and for the workers who execute them, so even the smallest details, e.g. window framing, were done to perfection.  What a joy to hire a professional and let him do the job, knowing that it's going to be done exactly right. <br />"

"Received quote for re-routing a tankless water heater vent that was exhausting fumes on our patio. <br /> Hot water pvc vent was connected and exited through roof of house one day. Returned a second day to run and connect pipes and installation of outdoor shower (we provided fixtures) in basement stair well. <br /> Was very knowledgeable, worked quickly and efficiently, and price was fair. Reduced price from quote for hot water vent because completed the work faster than anticipated."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Sherwood, MD

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
