"Overall the project went very well. They communicated effectively. They were flexible and responded to our concerns in a timely manner. They altered the floor plan of our old, disastrous master bathroom and created a walk-in closet. This was all done according to a layout we came up with. Prior to project commencement we discussed with Jim and America what we wanted. We were clear on the layout though sketchy on the details. They drew up a contract that itemized what would be done and the price for it. The contract included a payment schedule. We added on some extra work during the project that increased the final contract price by about 10%. The bathroom fixtures, vanity and countertop, tiles, shower glass and closet organizer were not included in the contract price. Things like the demolition of existing stuff, installation of fixtures and tiles, framing, drywall, painting, electrical wiring, and the under plumbing were included in the contract price. The demolition was fast and efficient and done with minimal mess. They built a stand-in shower, rerouted the plumbing for a bathtub and toilet and wired an electrical layout. They also installed new windows, lights, ceiling fans, a vanity and hung doors. The framing, drywalling, plumbing, electrical work, painting, fixture installations and finishing work were all excellent. Our only complaint is that their tile subcontractor was a bit sloppy. We had him replace some tiles he chipped during install. These replacements were done at the contractor's expense. There were a few project delays that were mostly from our end. For example: the freestanding bathtub we wanted was out of stock and had to be backordered. It took a good 2 months to arrive. OC Home Builders made suggestions as to designers and suppliers. We went with some of their suggestions such as which mirror and shower glass installer to use. However, they worked just as well with suppliers we chose. Things would have gone more smoothly and quickly for us if we had known ahead of time exactly what we wanted and had it lined up to go. During the project they were respectful of our home and privacy as much as one can be during a remodel. They were responsible to be left alone on the premises and they locked up the house if they left when we were not there. They made efforts to keep the dust and paraphernalia confined to the work area of our home and they did a good job of that. They didn't leave a mess when they left. The final result looks good and works great. Jim and America Fischer and their crew got the job done."

"Our initial meeting with Suj was great. Initially, we had in mind a much larger job. He had quoted us $3000 for the closet demolition / wall rebuild (non-load bearing), packaged with several other items. Together with the fee for drawings ($4000) and permits, this was a bit higher than we anticipated. However, we decided to go with Suj due to his responsiveness and professionalism. Out of our other quotes, Suj’s pricing was middle of the pack - not the cheapest or most expensive. When the drawings were complete and evaluated, he gave us an updated cost of $6000 over text message. The scope of work had changed, and this was no longer part of a bigger project - understandable. The issue was when he gave us the official estimate a week later and up’d the price once again to $9000. When asked what happened, his exact words were “well, I need to get paid too”. He had weeks to consider before quoting the $6000 and nothing had changed since then. The extra $3000 may be insignificant compared to most renovation costs, but for us in our first home, this was back breaking. We continued with Suj since we were already locked in and well past the 3 day cancellation period. Their work for the most part was exceptional. The new wall blended perfectly into our existing structure, and the ceiling patch was also well done. The problem here was the floor. They had dug up a 1” deep pit in the floor, likely to remove the wall studs. However, they did not patch the floor or even let us know this was going to be an issue. We were never told about the pit until I decided to check in on their progress one day towards the end of the wall build. This required us to pay a handyman to come in next day on a weekend to patch the concrete since we had cabinets being installed the following Tuesday. Suj was aware of this and did not believe it pertinent information. Overall, Suj and SoCal Builders do quality work, but the issues in pricing consistency lost us before the work even started. Not even telling us that we’d be left with a 1” deep pit in our floor after was another huge issue which should’ve been brought up much earlier. This was our first experience with a contractor and I’m not sure if this is typical or not. However, it’s enough to make me doubt I’d contact them for any future work."

"I decided to convert my garage into a ADU building, to get extra space. I worked with Kris and his Architect from Creative Home Remodeling on the design and plans. After we got the plans approved back from the city Kris started to build my new space based on his design. We added a small kitchen with a living space and nice bathroom. "We absolutely love our new home. We had our kitchen remodeled, our hallway, which is now our beautiful laundry area, our two bathrooms, new flooring installed in those areas, recessed lighting, new central air and heat, the electrical upgraded, new plumbing in areas that needed it, the exterior and interior painted, and our structure retrofitted. Even though we didnâ t add square footage the inside of our home is unrecognizable. Everyone that comes to our home canâ t believe the changes, and how beautiful it came out. We love it! We met with at least four other contractors before deciding to go with H&A My Design. Ben, the Project Manager, immediately made us feel comfortable, and made a great impression with us. He was with us from the get go and through to completion. Meshi was added to our project shortly after we started. So there were now two Project Managers. Meshi was an excellent and pleasant addition. Meshi and Ben were on top of everything. Between her and Ben nothing went unanswered. Every good relationship does have some stumbles, how they are resolved determines everything. Whenever we had questions or concerns during the project we immediately received a text, a phone call, or Ben or Meshi would drop by. They were hands on, and never difficult to reach. They both immediately addressed any issues we had. When the project was complete Ben and Meshi even brought our fur babies fun gifts and tasty snacks, along with a gift for us. About three months later, we noticed some issues. We contacted Meshi and Ben via text and sent pictures. She immediately sent someone out and the job was complete within 24hrs. The project took about three months to complete. Overall, we had a great experience, and we are very happy with the outcome, the professionalism, and the time frame. We would use, and highly recommend, H&A My Design for future projects, and Ben and Meshi as our Project Managers. Thank you Ben and Meshi and H&A My Design! We couldnâ t be happier."

We were so impressed with our exterior home renovation they did a few years ago, that we contacted the company again when we were ready to remodel one of our bathrooms. "We hired Trig Builders to tear out our bathtub, shower and shower walls and to build a tub deck with a drop in tub; install marble tiles on the shower floor & walls and vanity backsplash, remove and relocate the old recessed lights and vent fan and install the shower/bath all plumbing fixtures. Like most other people, we also had many other bids before deciding who to hire for that work and at the end of this hard process, we decided to go ahead with Trig Builders. Our decision to hire and work with them was based on their positive online opinions from other clients and the excellent reputation that they have. At first, we worked only with Michelle about the design and the selection of materials of the project. It was a pretty easy and not complicated to work with her. At the end of that process, we were extremely happy with the overall design and the flow of the space. After that stage, Yossi was assigned to our project and he took over with the designs and flow. During the work, we had close to 6 workers that worked daily on the entire project starting with demolition, framing, and construction, paint and finishes installation. By having all this people working at the same time, we felt and noticed that the work is running super-fast and we loved it! Yossi made sure that each stage will be approved by him and this was the main reason why he visited our house on a daily basis (sometimes even more than once a day). The work was completed after 3 weeks from the day that Michelle met with us and we approved the design and the flow. At the end of the work, Yossi and Michelle came over to the final meeting where we inspected all the work and the final project. During that meeting, we informed them about few issues and Yossi was able to take care of them the following day making sure that they all will be resolved and approved by us. This is the greatest service we could think of. Trig Builders did a great work and we do recommend them for any construction work."

"I was referred to 800 Remodeling by Angie's List, and the owner, Amir, called me literally minutes after I received the referral. I described my situation to him and we scheduled a meeting at my home for the following day. He arrived promptly and immediately introduced himself with a picture ID and his state contractor's license. After inspecting the cracks that were of concern to me in a structural post supporting a major beam, he took some pictures and promised to get back to me with some recommendations. The next day, he called just as he had promised, told me that after talking with a structural specialist he did not believe the post needed to be replaced, but nevertheless gave me a rough-order-of-magnitude estimate on what a replacement would cost, should I decide to have that done. After some additional research, I concluded that the cracks are typical and not impairing the structural integrity of the post, and decided for added insurance simply to reinforce the post with some wrap-around steel bands. Since that is a small and simple job, Amir offered to refer me to someone else to do that job for me. He did not charge me for the consultation or the time he spent in discussions with other specialists. So although I ultimately didn't hire him for this job, I was impressed by his professionalism and shall definitely be contacting him again for some larger jobs I am planning in the future."
