"We are very satisfied with the work that Mid-Valley Chimney Repair & Sweeps performed on our chimney during the week of July 23-27, 2018. Matt (T) and Billy set up, cleaned chimney and removed old mortar. Matt did an outstanding job with the re tuck point and cement crown . We commend him on his attention to detail. Howard and Seth cleaned chimney and applied sealer. They also removed scaffolding and cleaned surrounding areas. Seth took the time to remove debris from plants in front of chimney. All members of the team were professional and answered all of our questions. They were very personable and it was a pleasure to do business with everyone beginning with Matthew Simpson who did the initial inspection and gave us the estimate. We highly recommend this company and plan to call on them again."

"I needed to have chimney caps put on 2 flues, but was told by another vendor that the flues might be too cracked to do so without being repaired or cut down. I called several companies and did not get a reply from 2. The third company, All Seasons Chimney, referred me to Bruce because they felt he was best suited for the particular work. Bruce answered when I called and set up to come look at the situation 2 days later. He and his son, Chad, come that day, assessed the situation and installed the 2 caps the same day. Bruce and Chad were very knowledgable and personable. I would use them again for sure! Actually I am awaiting an estimate for some additional work that I inquired about before they left."

"<p>The actual installation went well and the stove  looked great (I did not notice the cook plate issue until later).  My issues began when I started trying to use the stove in November.  The house filled with thick smoke and even though I opened all windows, the smell would not dissipate.  I called Vonderhaar (talked to Jennifer and Colleen) and was advised that the issue was because the stove needed to be "cured".  That is a process where you burn tiny fires and then progressively larger fires until the stove is broken in.  Well, I built 4-5 progressively bigger fires and the smell continued.  So I had a disgustingly overwhelmingly smokey creosote smell in my home for about a month.  Anytime I was in the house I had to have the windows open just to breathe.  I had people over familiar with wood stove operation who told me that was  not normal.  Also, a black sooty fluid began to appear at the back of the stove where the stove pipe met the stove.  Also the cook plate was not installed plumb. Not a functional issue but it is an aesthetic one.  </p> <p>I have called Vonderhaar probably 20 + times in the last month requesting help and to no avail.  There are 3 people in the office who work there - Jennifer, Colleen and Katie.  I've talked to all 3 about this problem on multiple occasions and basically I get told that either they need to talk to the owner/installer, or they will get back with me, or they hand me off to someone else in the office.  Also, if they say they will call me back, they don't.  I have to continuously call them back.  I am spending a lot of time calling their office and waiting on hold in their phone system.  Note:  the stinky smell has dissipated some what so that I can now breathe in the house without opening all windows but I know there are still draft issues since it takes an hour to build a fire.</p> <p>I am writing this review here in the hopes that it will persuade the owner - who I cannot talk to directly- to contact me and make this right.  At $8000 I would expect the company to stand behind their product and work with me to fix any issues.  I will keep Angie's list updated on their responses to me.</p> <p>Updated 2/6/2016: I met with the owner twice and both times it was a positive experience.  He was very nice and quite knowledgeable, and responsive after looking at the stove.  He added more pipe which I think helped.  The bad smell has completely gone away.  I built 2 fires since his last visit and both times there was no smell and everything went smoothly.  So I am changing my grade from F to B based on the owner's responsiveness.</p>"

"Advantage had installed gutter covers several years ago. I went with another roofer for reroofing solely based on price, and gutter covers were damaged, issues with ice shield, etc. Tim agreed to come examine the gutter covers and explain additional issues to other roofer, explain things to me, and he advocated for me. Went above and beyond the call of duty in agreeing to help me. Still can't believe he did it, and can't thank him enough."

"Sales rep was very friendly and answered all my questions including helping me understand the 5 star service I purchased. Damaged screens were fixed "immediately". Install went well including the cleanup. Install was completed in a very timely fashion. Extra crew was involved to do my roof in one day --- just ahead of the December snow storm. Quality inspection did identify some issues (not sealed gutters and missing rain sensor). I did need to call in the spring to follow up on the sealing of the gutters and getting reimbursed for the rain sensor. The sealing of the gutters happened shortly after my first call, but I needed to follow up a couple of times to get reimbursed for the missing rain sensor."
