"We are in the process of selling our home and even though damp basements are very common in our neighborhood, we had several buyers comment and we decided to correct the situation.  I had four different waterproofing companies come out and give estimates and Rick was the clear choice.  One, he was recommended by a friend who is also a realtor.  Two, he seemed to really know what he was talking about, but was not giving me a hard sales pitch.  My sense is that some of the bigger companies send salesmen out, who have never actually performed the work (e.g. One rep was so perplexed by the fact that our basement was two levels.  Rick never even mentioned this, and they simply dug through the height difference).  Lastly, Rick's price was very reasonable.  We ended up paying more than two other estimates, but Rick's fee included more work: wall reconditioning, a french drain around the entire perimeter and installation of a sump pump.  <br /> Notably, our home is now under contract and we have had several comments about what a good job this company did.  The home appraiser even asked for the name of the company that did the work! <br /> The crew was punctual and the work was finished on schedule.  Long story short, I HIGHLY recommend this company. <br />"

It was a pleasure to work with sales person (low key - no high-pressure sales job), the office staff (friendly and responsive) and, the crew (hardworking and efficient). After getting bids from 4 reputable area waterproofing companies, I chose Amguard Systems Inc. which serves the Pittsburgh area. Why? Well, first, they didn't try to up-sell me on non-essential add-ons as did the others. The price was about $2,000 less than the highest bid received. I didn't need a "Cadillac" or, wanted to fund somebody else's new fishing boat purchase. I just needed to stop the stormwater from coming into my leaky basement. The crew was experienced and efficient. They arrived on the day and time promised and, they completed the job (about 60' of drainage and sump installed in the basement) in one day; (8 AM to 4 PM). They hauled out all the rubble and left the place in decent condition. No drama, no bad moves and, a job well done at a fair price.
