"Para Services is a dream come true for my aging husband and me - with their help, we can now hope to spend the next decade in our own home instead of moving to a retirement community. For our first visit, two highly competent (and personable) technicians showed up and spent the day reviewing everything in our house that could possibly need maintenance or repair. We were astonished by how much they got done. For example, one of them even climbed onto the roof where they found and nailed down some loose shingles. They cleaned the dryer vent (something we’ve never had done before), re-caulked some sections of the bathroom tiles, repaired loose door handles, checked the fire extinguishers, and the list goes on and on. I was especially pleased that they replaced all the burnt-out overhead light bulbs, so now my husband won't have to climb onto a tall ladder. We really look forward to working with Para in the years ahead."

"Jack and his crew are incredibly nice, knowledgeable, skilled, and easy to work with. They did a fantastic job, and were so respectful of our home! I hardly knew they were here half the time, they were so low-key. We had them do the baseboards and outer door frames on our living, dining, and hallway areas. We'd refinished the wood floors over the summer, and hadn't gotten around to painting and installing the new trim, and finally just realized we didn't want to do it ourselves, and hired it out. They completed the work yesterday, which was well in line with our agreements, and it turned out beautifully! I just walked down the hall, and said internally, "Wow, this looks so great." ? My partner said the same thing when he got home and inspected it. We're both impressed and pleased with it, and Isaac's attention to detail, and willingness to be super diligent for me, were highly valuable! "work was flawless, 4.5 hours, but the buyer will not recognize the repairs, I was very impressed, very detailed about the work. Another gentleman was sent to re-insulated and belly bonded and worked on the crawlspace, next day came back to take pictures and bought materials for the left side of the house, rebuild it with wood beams and concrete post. 3rd day, bought new screen cover for the air vents around the house, about 8 to 10 of them. I can't say enough good things about these folks: all businesses should operate this way.  When I first contacted them about the needed repairs, they replied promptly.  After every question I asked, I received a prompt, on-point, thorough answer.  The things I needed done were not emergencies, so I told them that whenever they could find time they could do them.  They promptly scheduled an appointment about 3 weeks in the future.  I somehow feel that if I had had an emergency, they might have been able to get to me much quicker.
On the day of the visit, they arrived promptly, and found the townhouse and the visitor parking on their own.  Both workers were intelligent, analytical, skilled, good listeners, thorough, efficient, careful and knew how to do everything on the list.  They went to Home Depot on their own for supplies.  We talked about one potential future project, not in the maintenance and repair category, and they said the would be able to do that as well (install new French doors).  They were friendly and polite and a delight to have in the house.
I engaged them to do work on my daughter's house, which is in their service area.  I am so impressed with them that I want to pay them travel time and mileage to work on my house (not in their service area).
I think the best thing about them is that they are able to do so many different things.  If you have a whole list of things requiring different skill sets and find it discouraging to have to locate a group of different people and set up different appointments, I would definitely run everything past these folks first.  They're outstanding.

From my first email (promptly answered) to James Stevenson, owner, enquiring about his ability to fix our sticky, laundry room pocket door all the way to project clean-up, I was most impressed by James's reasonable rates for his work, in-depth subject matter knowledge, recognition of MTC Handyman Services’ limitations, ability to clearly communicate a job's status with his customer and propose additional steps which were needed to address the job. James arrived promptly at the agreed upon time to fix our pocket door. He did a preliminary assessment of the situation and determined that the issue was with a door frame which was too tight and the entire pocket door with frame would need to be replaced. He informed us that the replacement job was beyond the scope of his handyman services and that he would not be charging us for the call. Unfortunately, he informed us that he had not been able to refer us to a contractor who could do that job because he had not been able to identify one who met his quality work standards. It had been my plan that if I was satisfied with his work on the pocket door, I would ask about his availability to complete other handyman jobs around our home. While he wasn't able to fix our pocket door, his ability to quickly ascertain the situation and deal forthrightly with his customer convinced me that I wanted him to complete one of the other jobs that I had in mind. One of those other jobs was to install a metal access door (I had already ordered and received the metal door so it was on hand) over a newly installed water shut-off valve where the plumber had left a jagged, gaping hole in the wallboard. James said he could install it immediately, but would need to pick up the necessary framing lumber first. He was gone only a short time on this errand. He quickly proceeded with installing the access door. The finished access door looked fabulous and operated exactly as I had hoped for. When my spouse saw the new door, she exclaimed that James should have been an artist because he had done such an outstanding job installing the door. James is now in my permanent contacts list for whenever I have more handyman jobs around our home."
